Winners of Spike TV's 'Scream 2008'

The 'Batman Begins' sequel, 'The Dark Knight', dominates the third annual Spike TV's Scream Awards 2008, bringing home twelve top prizes, including The Ultimate Scream Movie and Best Comic Book Movie.

The winners of "Scream 2008", the third annual Spike TV's Scream Awards, has been uncovered and summer blockbuster flick "The Dark Knight" has come out victorious. Nominated for an astounding 21 nominations, the sequel to "Batman Begins" has collected an amazing twelve kudos from the award event that honors the best in fantasy, sci-fi, comics and horror.

At the live taping of the show which took place at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, "Dark Knight" has been hailed to be The Ultimate Scream Movie, Best Sequel and Best Comic Book Movie. It also obtained recognition for its F/X garnering a Best F/X prize. Though losing the Most Memorable Mutilation to "Teeth", the superhero movie won also The Holy ****! Scene of the Year and Best Line prizes.

On the part of its performers, "Dark Knight" brought coveted awards for Christian Bale, Heath Ledger and Gary Oldman. Bale was awarded with Best Superhero, while Ledger was given the title of Best Actor in a Fantasy Movie or TV Show and Best Villain for his portrayal of Joker. Additionally, Oldman was given the honor as Best Supporting Performance. Moreover, director Christopher Nolan and the screenwriter team Christopher, Jonathan Nolan and David Goyer, has also gained Best Director and Best Screenplay kudos.

Christian Bale, 'Dr. Strange' Potential Choice

Words are, the two-time Batman depicter, Christian Bale, is being considered to take the titular role of Marvel's 'Dr. Strange'.

Christian Bale could be trading his Batman gears with another superhero costume. Australia's LiveNews has sparked rumors that the 34-year-old star is most likely to portray Dr. Stephen Vincent Strange, a former surgeon turned powerful sorcerer, in the earlier proposed comic book adaptation film, "Dr. Strange".

Suggesting that Bale is the studio's first choice for the part, the publication went on by quoting a source, "Christian is hot property right now, courtesy of Batman. Doctor Strange is a very different kind of hero to Batman and it's felt Christian is the sort of actor who can make the part work on screen." Still, LiveNews noted that no deal has been signed yet on this casting possibility.

Bale recently struck gold when the latest superhero movie he stars in, "The Dark Knight", blasted off, becoming the second highest grossing film of all time and collecting $991.3 million worldwide. His film credits included "3:10 to Yuma", "Rescue Dawn" and "Batman Begins". He will next be seen starring as John Connor in the fourth "Terminator" movie, "Terminator Salvation".

On the "Dr. Strange" project itself, the movie is yet to have its script, director or definite plan. Previously, Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige only mentioned the possibility of the movie being developed in his response to the question of the studio's future plan after delivering "The Avengers".

Full Movie Nominees List of the 35th People's Choice Awards

'The Dark Knight', 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' and 'Iron Man' are among the top contenders named for the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards.

On Monday, November 10, Joshua Jackson, Carrie Ann Inaba, Paula Marshall and Jay Mohr have announced the nominations for the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards. From the announcement, it is revealed that the movie categories have been dominated by blockbuster superheroes movies from "The Dark Knight" to "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

Leading the pack is "Dark Knight". The sequel of "Batman Begins" has collected multiple nods and has aided Christian Bale to receive four counts for Favorite Leading Man, Favorite Male Action Star, Favorite Superhero and Favorite On-Screen Match-Up. For the latest nod, Bale shares it with co-star Heath Ledger.

Despite the numerous counts it collected, "Dark Knight" is set to face strong competitors. Both Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie gongs put "Dark Knight" in a position to be up against "Crystal Skull" and "Iron Man". Its cast also have to compete with the cast ensemble of "Mamma Mia!" and "Sex and the City" for new category, Favorite Movie Cast.

Other movie nominees for the upcoming People's Choice Awards include "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian", "Kung Fu Panda", "WALL-E", "Get Smart" and "The Secret Life of Bees". In the meantime, Robert Downey Jr., Will Smith, Angelina Jolie and Cate Blanchett are among the stars nominated in the categories for favorite performers.

Voting line has been opened starting on Monday, November 10 through pcaVOTE.com. The awards which recognizes the people and the work of popular culture will be aired live on the CBS Television Network on January 7 from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and will be hosted by Queen Latifah.

List of 2009 People's Choice Awards Winners in Movie

Dominating the winners list with three kudos, 'The Dark Knight' has been named People's Favorite Movie at the 35th Annual People's Choice Awards.

"The Dark Knight" has become the most successful winner at the 35th People's Choice Awards. On Wednesday, January 7, the Christopher Nolan-directed superhero movie collected the most kudos, bringing home more than three prizes, including Favorite Movie and Favorite Action Movie.

The sequel to "Batman Begins" also received an award for its two leading actors, Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, for their on-screen match-up. Aside from the Favorite On-Screen Match-Up prize, Bale, who portrays the bat-costumed superhero Batman as well as his alter ego Bruce Wayne in the action movie, has also nabbed a Favorite Superhero title.

"Dark Knight" multiple awards collection from People's Choice was followed by "The Secret Life of Bees" and Will Smith with two kudos each. "Secret Life", which has just got 8 nominations from the 40th NAACP Image Awards, has collected the most votes for Favorite Movie Drama and Favorite Independent Movie, while Smith was named male movie star and male action star favorite.

Other winners included "Wall-E", which won the Favorite Family Movie prize, and "27 Dresses", which earned a Favorite Movie Comedy title. In addition, Brad Pitt, Adam Sandler, Reese Witherspoon, Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie and Tina Fey have also been awarded with a Favorite title in the performers category from Favorite Leading Man to Favorite Funny Female Star.
