"Twilight" DVD Release Date & Art (Blu-ray Info Added)

Summit Entertainment has announced the vampire drama Twilight is tentatively slated to hit DVD on March 21st. That's a four month turnaround for the successful adaptation of Stephenie Meyer's novel which opened November 21st. No specs have been announced, but you can probably bet on a few making-of featurettes and, according to the director, a slew of deleted scenes.

To date, Twilight has grossed $177 million domestically and $262 million worldwide. We'll update this spot when official specs are announced!

If you're itching to buy Twilight on Blu-Ray March 21st (the same day as the film's DVD bow), then you'll only find it in two locations.

According to Blu-Ray.com, Summit announced it will exclusively offer the Blu-Ray at Target and Best Buy. All other retailers get it May 5th. Special features include:

Audio Commentary by director Catherine Hardwicke, and stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart
5 Extended Scenes with introductions by the director
5 Deleted Scenes with introductions by the director
3 Music Videos from Muse, Paramore and Linkin Park
"The Adventure Begins: The Journey from Page to Screen" — A seven-part documentary
Comic-Con Phenomenon featurette

i read that the dvd-release in germany will be in june so now i'm thinking about to try to order the british edition - i don't want to wait till summer *hmm*

I'm gonna have to buy mine at Target to get it on Blu-Ray unless my manager goes and buys copies. But since its a Target exclusive, I don't know how he can do that. I want my copy on Blu-Ray, though. Can't wait to buy the DVD. Though, I kind of like the book a little better. Movie is better in some points, though.

Now, the Blu-Ray is only exclusive to Target for the first two weeks, right? Man, I can't wait to get this on Blu-Ray! It'll be awesome! Wait a minute, is the collector's edition the only one that comes with the "New Moon" teaser? And that's the teaser trailer, right? At least, that's what I'm assuming it is. I might buy it in March and again in May.

"Twilight" DVD/Blu-ray Release at Midnight

What more appropriate time to release a sexy vampire DVD than at midnight. Actually, in keeping with all the "Twilight" movie hype, Summit Entertainment is planning a national "Twilight at Midnight" event.

Retailers will stay open late on Friday, March 20th and at the stroke of 10:00 p.m. fans can purchase the DVD until 12:00 midnight. There is even a store locator on the "Twilight" web site where fans can get info on which stores are hosting midnight "Twilight" parties.

as an employee of target i can tell you target won't be staying open till midnight. you'll just have to wait till 8am in the morn. you can purchase the regular dvd for 17.99 and the double disk version for 24.99. i took a look already at the ad but i didn't manage to see what the sale price for the blu ray version is. i already grabbed my copy (shhhhhh)but gave it to my girlfriend cuz she's insane for twilight. now i'm going to have to go and grab another copy, but this time from wal mart on monday/tuesday midnight. i'm just grabbing the regular version since the features aren't that great i the double disk version or the blue ray. the regular dvd contains the stuff i really need, like the movie, commentary, deleted scenes and music videos, who cares about interviews and the other stuff.

yep unless it's another mistake in their ad. cuz as of late there have been tons of mistakes in pricing and details on items. they need to fire whoever is doing their ads cuz it's been way too much.

yeah we were running around wondering if it was legit or not. but it is and it's good deal for 3 discs. the version i got only had the movie, commentaries, extended scenes and music videos. well i don't have it anymore, but i'll be there in line, sort of, to get a copy for that price. at least it's not like at some of the major video rental places that are selling it. the ones i've seen, are selling the regular one disc version for the price of the blu ray. which is a rediculous price for just one disc.

Now the Blu-Ray is still exclusive to Target, right? Because people at my work (I do not work at Target) weren't believing me and they were saying that we were supposed to get them. And the computer said we had 2 on order, but we couldn't special order the Blu-Ray and so it makes me think we won't get them in if we don't have them already. But I just wanted to make sure that it really is an exclusive to Target.
