Broad St. The third annual event offers the chance to hear Virginia actors read short stories by Virginia authors. If last year's program, hosted by Pat Carroll, was any indication, audiences are in for a treat. Burton, born and raised in Sterling Park, also will read the story "Irregularities" by Courtney Jones. Jones, who is working on her first novel, earned her master of arts degree in English and creative writing at Hollins University. Richmond native Clay McLeod Chapman, who now writes and directs in New York with the Pumpkin Pie Show, will read his own story "oldsmobile." Richmond actors Erin Thomas and Larry Cook will read Richard Bausch's "The Man Who Knew Belle Starr." Bausch, a recipient of the Award in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, won the Library of Virginia Fiction Award in 2003 for "Hello to the Cannibals." New Yorker-by-way-of-Richmond Dan Ruth, who writes, directs and acts, will read "Peace, Brother" by Edward Falco. Falco teaches writing and literature at Virginia Tech and edits The New River, an online journal of digital writing. (Digital writing, designed to be read on a computer screen, allows the reader to take multiple paths via word and image links.) Musical guests Kelly Kennedy and Mark Rhodes will accompany the actors as they read. Actor and author Irene Ziegler will produce and direct the event, which is co-produced by James River Writers and Barksdale Theatre in association with the READ Center. The readings will be recorded for broadcast by WCVE-FM (88.9) on Thanksgiving evening, Nov. 23. Tickets, which include a reception with the artists, cost $10 to $25. | Member ![]() | i wish that to, how cool would it be just to draw whatever comes into your head. I love the pic och lucas, brooke and Peyton, when they are shoothing at a heart with Lucas jersynr in it. The one Peyton draws after that brooke found out about her and Lucas . but the thing about that one is that in the episdoe when Nathan is dreaming about how things could have been if Dan had piced Lucas mom insted of his mom. And when "mean" Lucas comes in to Peyton room and they starts fighting you can see that pic hanging on her door, obviously they forgot to take it down cuz if things had been like in that episode then that pic wouldn´t exist. Just something i bugged me . |
