The signs pointed the way for film crews working on a movie being shot near Donaldsonville. Filming for the motion picture "Stay Alive" wrapped Saturday at Palo Alto Plantation on Hwy 1 south of Donaldsonville. Lowery Intermediate School was used as a base for the production. The plantation, which was built in 1867, was used for interior shots for the thriller, producer Erin Stam said. Much of the film was shot in New Orleans, but the crew shot scenes in Donaldsonville from Thursday night through Saturday. Stam said the movie is set to be released at some point next winter. The movie, directed by William Brent Bell, is about a group of teenagers who notice that when their characters in an online horror game die, they mysteriously die in reality. It will star Samaire Armstrong, who is best known for playing Anna Stern on the television series "The O.C." Sophia Bush plays the role of Sarah Weaver in the movie. Bush also stars in the television series "One Tree Hill." "Malcolm in the Middle" star Frankie Muniz plays Swink Sylvania. http://www.ascensioncitizen.com/arti...news/news8.txt |
