here is a cute interview with Bryan

**********

Most people do not recognize Bryan Greenberg by name, but many would recognize his boyish look from his work on screen, ranging from his role as an SAT answer thief opposite Scarlett Johannson in "The Perfect Score" to Uma Thurman's young boyfriend in "Prime" to his most famous role as high school dad Jake Jagielski in the teen drama "One Tree Hill."

Now Greenberg undertakes a role that reflects his true off-screen persona. In the new ABC drama "October Road," Greenberg plays Nick Garrett, a young author from a small town who returns home after a 10-year absence to face the reaction of the people on whom his award winning novel is based. Speaking with the Loyolan one afternoon, Greenberg discussed his apprehension prior to committing to the show, as well as working with children and beautiful actresses.

Kirstin Carag: How did you get involved with October Road?

Bryan Greenberg: My manager gave me the script and told me I'd like it, but I wasn't sure if I'd do it because I was more interested in doing movies, since TV is such a big commitment. A pilot tends to be just an idea and you don't really know where it's going to go. But after meeting with the writers, I was sold.

KC: How is it working with children both on "One Tree Hill" and in "October Road?"

BG: On "One Tree Hill," the infants were difficult because you needed several of them, since they get tired easily and can only be on the set for a limited amount of time. It's also tough because they would always be crying and the crew has to be very quiet. A 20-second scene can literally take several hours. Slade Pearce ("October Road"), however, is a good little actor. He's actually smarter than everyone else in the show.

KC: How is it working with a predominantly male cast?

BG: I enjoy it a lot. It's a bunch of good guys and I don't have a problem with anyone.

KC: You've been lucky enough to work with beautiful actresses-Thurman, Johannson and Hilarie Burton. Do you consider that a perk of the job?

BG: Work with beautiful women and get paid for it? Yes!

KC: Can you relate more to your "One Tree Hill" character Jake, or your "October Road" character Nick?

BG: Jake was fun, but he was a high school student and I haven't been in high school for a while now. Nick has had some success-he's the same age as me and he comes from a small town. He's now at a crossroads in life as he tries to deal with the past and the present. He has writer's block and not quite sure what he wants to do next.

KC: Besides movies and TV shows, you've dabbled in singing. How's the album coming along?

BG: I've been working on it for two years. Some songs were played on "One Tree Hill" and some will be used for "October Road." I'm not signed to a label; it's just a project with friends and a passion of mine for two years now.

KC: Do you have any plans on performing your material in front of people?

BG: I want to hit some of the local clubs and do some shows.

KC: Movies, TV shows, music-is there anything else you want to experiment on?

BG: Bungee jumping! (laughs) I feel like the future is wide open. I just have my hands full because of the show, but I wouldn't say no to directing if it comes up.
