While The Price Is Right is running on Friday nights, the plan is to go to http://www.cbs.com and to all watch the same episode of Moonlight with the intention of sending CBS a message. We do know that they pay attention to what we're watching on CBS.com, so it should be obvious that we're not watching the available "current" programming. Yes, this may crash their streaming vid server, but they're still going to know which streaming vid made it all come crashing down.

Please spread this around to all the other Moonlight sites you can possibly think of during the next week. Let them know that this is a concerted effort and that we need to come together to make this all happen.

If they want to coordinate anything, let them know they can contact me at leeser@moonlightline.com. It's time to throw away any nastiness we may have toward any other Moonlight site, because we're all in this together.

More Showrunner Upheaval for 'Moonlight'

CBS' cult-favorite vampire drama "Moonlight" is expected to shoot its last four episodes of the season without a showrunner.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chip Johannessen has exited the first-year bloodsucking soap for unspecified reasons. Rather than finding a new showrunner/exec producer to take his place, the trade paper says that Joel Silver and the show's writing staff will collectively work to bring in the last four episodes.

If "Moonlight" is renewed for a second season -- and CBS executives may be terrified about receiving packages of hemoglobin if they cancel it -- a showrunner would be named for the second season.

Fans of the show know that David Greenwalt ("Angel") originally came on to recast and tweak the "Moonlight" pilot presentation, but left very early into the episode run, replaced by Johannessen.

Although it stands as CBS' lowest rated Friday night drama, dropping in viewers between "Ghost Whisperer" and "Numb3rs," "Moonlight" has still regularly won its 9 p.m. time slot in many key measures, holding off shows like NBC's "Friday Night Lights," which may have received more publicity.

The date is now April 25th for new episodes of Moonlight. If you go to the Moonlight page at CBS they have a cool countdown clock for the return! You can get all the codes for MySpace, Facebook, LiveJournal, etc.

I just read that Eric Winter (from Brothers & Sisters) will guest-star in at least 3 of the upcoming episodes, so that should be great. He's such a cutie.

They are going to show the last episode, the Mortal Cure on April 18th!! YAY!! Hope it brings in more people for the brand new episode on April 25th.

'Moonlight' Fans Are Bloody Invested
Even though most industry observers expect CBS to renew "Moonlight" without prompting, fans of the vampire drama are using their blood (and maybe sweat and tears) to save their show.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Moonlight" fans are joining forces with the Red Cross and YouChoose.net to organize a nationwide blood drive in support of the series. Already more than 3,000 fans have pledged to donate a pint.

In addition, the trade paper is reporting that the fan actions are expected to prompt Alex O'Loughlin, the show's blood-sucking star, to take a new role as Red Cross spokesman.

While "Moonlight" has routinely lost viewers between "Ghost Whisperer" and "Numb3rs" on Friday nights, CBS gave the freshman drama -- subject of extensive casting and showrunning tumult both before and during the season -- a vote of confidence with a four-episode post-strike order.

"Moonlight" returns to CBS on Friday, April 25.

Have Dinner with Moonlight Star Alex O'Loughin

OK, so that title up there may be a little cruel and misleading to any fans who thought it was a real invitation to have a romantic picnic in the sand with Alex O'Loughlin. (I'll pause while you visualize...and wipe your drool.) But in the Q&A that follows, you can have the next best thing (maybe?): A cyberdinnertime-chat experience with Alex, who called just moments ago, while chomping down a salad during a five-minute break on set. (Did you hear the one about TV leads being busy?)

More important, as you may have heard, the fans of CBS' Moonlight are a wee bit...impassioned. And by "wee bit," I mean they are willing to give their own blood: They have coordinated a truly heartwarming (see what I did there?) philanthropic campaign to help support the series, via a blood drive with the American Red Cross.

Read on for Alex's thoughts on the fandemonium, the prospects of season two and what's in store when Moonlight returns to CBS April 25...

I heard you were so moved by the fan blood drive. Do you want to take part?
Oh yeah, I’m a part of it. I’m hopefully gonna be a spokesperson for the Red Cross at some level. But I’m absolutely being a part of it.

How does it feel to know your fans care that much?
It’s just so great. Even more so than them caring about the show is that such initiative is being used to participate in a community service at such a selfless level. I think it’s such a great idea, and it’s such a wonderful project and I’m thrilled to be a part of it. And then on a show level, it’s thrilling to know that people care about the show as much as I do.

How are you feeling now about the chances of another season?
Before I tell you that, I’m going to apologize because I’m eating a salad while I’m talking to you.

No problem. I know your schedule is very busy, what with you being in every scene. And it's nice to know you really eat—unlike your alter ego.
I eat real food so Mick doesn't have to. As for another season, I think it’s difficult to answer, because CBS is so unpredictable in how and why they make the decisions they make. Which is why no one, not even the other networks, can second-guess them at this time of the year before the upfronts. Personally, I think it’d be a smart business choice to pick the show up, because we have such a rabid fan base and people will tune in to watch.

Is it hard not knowing?
As an actor, I can’t ever afford to second-guess anything, because often I’m wrong, and it hurts too bad. I’m so invested in this show. I’ve put a lot of love and a lot of heart and a lot of thought and a lot of creative and emotional energy into this piece, and I don’t want to go anywhere.

The fans would agree. What can you tell me about what we can expect when the show comes back?
Sex and drama. Lots of sex and drama. Sexy sex and sexy drama. We’re just finishing up episode 14, which leads to 15 and 16.

Does it feel like you're ramping up toward the season finale?
Yeah, things are getting bigger. It doesn’t feel like a finale. It feels like a beginning. I don’t feel like we’re riding for the end. We are at beginning of something huge. I haven’t read episode 16, which is our final installment, but I’ve just finished 15, and it’s fantastic. It’s so full of life, it’s awesome stuff. It’s got some incredible flashbacks, and it’s got some Mick emotion that will knock everyone out of their socks. It’s got a whole bunch of stuff that will really rock the fans.

You and Sophia (Beth) have such great chemistry.
We’ve become great friends. She’s a terrifically committed actor, and she’s a ball of fun on set. She’s outrageously funny herself and loves to be a part of the gag. She’s just a real team player. You'll always find her hanging out with the electrics or hanging out on the curbside laughing with the wardrobe and having a great time, as opposed to, like, stuck up in her trailer. She’s not that person. So it's great working with her. We're having a blast.

I wonder if Beth will become one to. Since now it looks like Mick is becoming more ok with what he is and not hating himself for it.

I loved last nights episode. My favorite so far. I'm soo happy Mick finally kissed Beth. I hope Beth becomes a vampire to in like 2 or 3 years. Can't wait for next weeks episode

Last night episode was alright, but I wish there were more parts of Mick & Beth investigating together.

Moonlight's Dohring Looks Ahead
Jason Dohring, who plays the 400-year-old vampire Josef in CBS' vampire drama Moonlight, told SCI FI Wire that the first-season finale will end with a cliffhanger. (Spoilers ahead!)

"You'll see a lot more of the vampire mythology coming up, but in the final show, you'll see us all kind of meet," Dohring said in an interview. "We have, like, a vampire conference. It's really cool. And we each kind of have our place."

Dohring explained that the vampire community will be forced to come together when it finds itself at risk of being exposed.

"We all get together to solve one problem, which is the threat to secrecy, basically a threat to survival, and that gets sort of complicated," Dohring said. "I think all the vampires are sort of involved, because it's something that's going on with all of them. You'll have to watch to see what's going on with that, but it basically poses quite a little problem for all of us. "

The cast and crew are still awaiting word from CBS as to whether the show will be renewed for a second season. Stars Alex O'Loughlin and Sophia Myles have already expressed their optimism about the possibility of a pickup. Dohring agreed with that sentiment.

"We have some momentum going," the former Veronica Mars star said. "I really feel it. Like, particularly in the last couple weeks since we've been doing all this promotion for the show. I feel like it's really swinging in our favor. I think that some promising things could happen. We're creating good shows, and I think if we can just get people to see them, then they'll hang around."

Dohring has additional incentive to hope for a renewal, having heard some of the ideas the writers are working on for the second season.

"[Producer Joel Silver] took us out to dinner, and we kind of pumped the writers for stories and what's going on," Dohring said. "There's going to be some cool stuff. There's going to be some historical events that went down that were shaped by vampires. You know what I mean? I'm looking forward to that. Like, big, huge things that you learn in your first year of school that were vampire-influenced."

And will his character be a part of those events?

"Hell, yeah," Dohring said. "I've been alive a long time." Moonlight airs Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.
