"Battlestar Galactica" Moving to Sundays

SCI FI Channel has announced that "Battlestar Galactica" will move to a new timeslot starting January 21, 2007: Sundays at 10 p.m. ET/PT, following the premiere of the new original series "The Dresden Files" at 9 p.m.

"Battlestar Galactica" has been airing episodes of its current third season on Fridays at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Executive-produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick, the series stars Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Jamie Bamber, Katee Sackhoff, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park.

This show was a bit disapointing. I dont think ill be watching it much. Dont like the cast ether.

What a dumb Idea moving it to Sunday. I dont even like it on Sunday, I dont watch all that much tv on that night. Its the least watched night on TV, and they put the first episode up againt a chapionship Sunday night football. It lost 400,000.

I thought Saturday night was the least watched night for Television? Anyways, football will be over after the Super Bowl so they won't have to compete with it for the rest of the season.

"Battlestar Galactica" has moved to Sunday, but the shift couldn't stop its downward-trending ratings.

The critically adored Sci Fi Channel series did a 1.4 household rating and brought in 1.8 million viewers for its Sunday (Jan. 21) midseason premiere. That's down from the 2.2 million viewers who tuned in for the show's October premiere in its original Friday home. Those numbers were down from the 3.1 million who watched the show's second season premiere in July of 2005.

Although "Battlestar Galactica" was clobbered by CBS' extraordinarily popular AFC championship football game, Sci Fi was able to find plenty of positives. The Peabody-winning drama was basic cable's top program for the day among adults 18-49 and was up 60 percent in that demo from the totals for the Dec. 15 midseason finale. The show may have become football counterprogramming, as viewership was particular strong among female viewers, up 68 percent among women 18-49 from the December finale.

Sci Fi got similar numbers from the series premiere of "The Dresden Files," which pulled in 1.7 million viewers, though the freshman drama's 882,000 viewers among adults 18-49 was far below the 1.3 million in the demo for "Battlestar."

Would I be able to start watching this show , never having ever to have seen one epi b4 ? It sounds so good. Or is it too far , that I would have to have some history.

I was a very good show, I think its losing what it had. 2 out of the last 3 shows have been boring.

Even I got confused with last show and seen every episode, but you could pick up on whats going on.

Im starting not to like this show anymore. The last few episodes have been weird. Lately the whole show is psychological with dreams and flashbacks. Its not going anywhere and its boring, I don’t know why I watch it anymore. They need to mix things up a bit like the original Battlestar.

Also all these scenes they keep showing after the show with them talking to cylons, whats that about/?

Is it just me or do you all agree?

Talk about a hiatus. Battlestar wont be returning until February 2008. Thats ridiculous.
