After being shown to a test group audience that contained press and critics, several complaints about the show where made. The show will now run a disclaimer that it is a fictional drama and not a documentary due to complaints that it may confuse people who watch it becuase of added fictional scenes, misrepresentation of recent history, and a completely out of whack timeline from 1993-2002. In response to hearing about this being a fictional drama, they are now receiving complaints from people and victims of 911 regarding the fact that they actually made a fictional drama out of such a tragedy. This is sure to attract viewers, especially with the good timing right before the official start of the Fall season, September 18th, but may create a negative image for Disney, who just battled, and still is, with complaint letters after the Mel Gibson drunk driving incident and there Holocaust documentary project there producing together. The Path To 911 premiers next Monday September 10th |

Bubba is so worried this might hurt his legacy he contacted ABC directly to try and stop the show's airing. I'm sure the disclaimer was the compromise. My feeling is, with hollywood full of liberals, and the network head s full of liberals, they would not do a piece that makes one of their own look bad unless it was absolutely true. The adviser to the movie was the republican head of the 911 commission. They did edit it and are currently editing it again to try to make it more factual. The news report I got was from after the Clinton complaint, it was a complaint from a test audience and the press. It was shown to them on Tuesday for news paper and TV guide reviews. They said lots of things about the movie where off. Last edited by open32; 09-08-2006 at 03:54 PM.. |
