Probably not. I'm a purest and a big fan of the original show. Didn't like some of the changes made for the mini.

Why not?

We're only up to episode five in Ireland, but it's great! It's got wacky robots shaped like people, entire fleets of spaceships that appear and disappear with no reason, and a president that's going to die soon.

I'm pretty happy with the stuff coming out from the Sci-Fi channel recently.
Between BSG and Earthsea, I think they are really making some appealing mini-series.
Do you agree?

Sounds like something I would hate. But then again I said that about Battlestar before I actually saw it.

Have people heard that NBC is going to re-air the BSG mini-series from last year a couple days before the new show starts on Sci-Fi? That'll be awesome! A great way to get in the BSG mood before the series starts.

Wish I could tell ya, but I'm holding out on seeing the episodes or reading spoilers until the new series starts in January. From what I've heard, the Cylon's look really incredible....and the shots they had of them in the trailer definitely confirmed that. I dunno, I'm optimistic, I think it's going to be a great series.

LOL. Oh, wait, is that possible? Or are you messing around? I haven't seen the show yet! Ahhhh...It can definitely be painful hearing other people discuss plot points and such, but it just builds my excitement and expectations even more, so i figure when it finally premieres in the U.S. I'll be ecstatic.

Not sure where you are, but if you're in America it starts next month. I just heard that the DVD of the mini-series from last year is coming out next week. Anyone else thinking of buying it?

Yes I been watching it on Sky One and love it. It is really good series and I hope it gets a second series.

I love the look of the cylons robots really cool and also like the cylons ships.

I must admit I also quite fancy Sarah 'Boomer' Valerii as well

It looks pretty cool, and I hear there are 20 minutes of deleted scenes.

True, cheaper is always better, I just want to be able to watch before the series starts in two weeks, and I doubt it will go on sale before then.

Also, I think I mentioned earlier that they are re-airing a shortened version of the mini-series on NBC. Anyone have any speculation what they'll do to shorten it? I'm real curious to see how the NBC version compares to the DVD.
