"The Science Guy" host wed his fiancee, musician and journalist Blair Tindall on Friday, Feb. 3, report news sources. The nuptials took place at the ultimate romantic venue -- a conference where Nye spoke. Cellist Yo-Yo Ma and MIT Media Lab professor Michael Hawley on piano performed the traditional wedding march. Tindall's website already reflects her married status, with "Blair Tindall Nye" printed on the home page. Nye's official site makes no mention of his non-scientific collaboration. It's the first marriage for both. Tindall is a former concert oboist who has performed in numerous symphonies and at Carnegie Hall. She's also a journalist who wrote the book "Mozart in the Jungle: Sex, Drugs and Classical Music," a behind-the-scenes look at the life of a freelance classical musician. She's also contributed to soundtracks for "Malcolm X," "Crooklyn," "Mad Dog and Glory" and "Snake Eyes." Nye, 50, is a scientist, engineer, comedian, author and inventor who has a degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University. He's best known for his nine-year stint on PBS' "Bill Nye, the Science Guy." In December, he made a guest appearance on CBS' "Numb3rs," in which he played Prof. Bill Waldie, a CalSci instructor who runs the college's combustion lab. |
