reality shows

all these shows that claim to create the next big star: american idol, america's next top model and the ripoffs of those. they haven't created the next big things with the exception of maybe kelly clarkson and yoana house (who got success from being a tv host not a model).

so why do people still flood to participate in these shows? and why do people still watch?

I have a confession to make. I watch America's Next Top Model. I mean, I only watch it socially and I can stop anytime I want. Heh heh. It's only a bit of fun, right? I can handle it.

Well I have to admit that I enjoy watching these shows -- they are great!

But I did see a commercial the other day for a new reality show for inventors that looked really promising -- it is called Made In the USA where inventors compete to get their invention out there. I really like the originality behind the idea and think it will be really good -- has anyone else seen the previews for this show?

I wonder about the contestants as to what they get.. I mean if it is all for the a grand prize.. the people that ran the program are making a ton more because they only have to pay one of them

I'm sure a lot of the prizes are sponsored. I'm sure that ANTP doesn't actually supply any of the prizes.

Well, the winner of this inventor show gets a year long marketing contract with the home shopping network so if I had some wild invention I would flood to participate because it sounds like a once in a lifetime opportunity -- don't you agree?

[img]graemlins/flame.gif[/img] I hate reality shows. They are so stupid and they have so many. The dumbests ones on right now is that dancing one and Tommy Lee goes to College who cares. I also can't stand Big Brother aswell. Half the "reality shows" seem pretty scripted if you ask me. It could come out of the head of any producer or director.
