| Who is better? Sure south park is raunchy but it's not as rewatchable as the simpsons. I mean I can tell you I watch the same old episodes over and over of the simpsons and hell i'm cool with that. While south park it's usually that first time and maybe a second time if I missed parts |

| Moderator ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | South Park easy. I stopped watching Simpsons when I started wearing big boy pants. It's kids stuff. For a while I was watching Simpsons every week and afterwards I would think "Hmm, maybe that was just one bad episode, next week it will get better." Too often there was just not very many good jokes in an episode. But the show has been on for 16(?) years and it must be difficult to continuously come up with material. South Park seems to satirize current events more often which is hilarious. I like my comedy to be a little offensive and unafraid of going over the top. |

| The Simpsons is smarter and more subtle. South Park just hits you over the head. But South Park was great right out of the box and The Simpsons took some time to develop. They've both been hit and miss at times. I dunno, to me they're too different to say one is better than the other. |

| I enjoy South Park a lot more than The Simpsons now. I like Matt Stone and Trey Parker. They have interesting views on...everything, and it's cool how they use crazy situations in the show to speak their minds. |

| The Simpsons seasons 2-6 or 7 were probably the best of any show ever. I weep at how it's become utterly unwatchable the last 8 years or so. Thank God for DVD. South Park is brilliant as well. Both shows have different goals, so it's pretty hard to compare the two. The real question is, who is more evil: Mony Burns or Eric Cartman? |

| simpsons is made by hand while south park is made by computer.. thus south park uses a lot of social jokes that happen recently. It is effective at the time. I dunno I mean I like both and while people bag on the simpsons new seasons, I still laugh a lot at it. Sure there would be stuff I'd like them to add and change but that's the same as the south park kids |

Without the Simpsons there would be no South Park. I will never get tired fo the Simpsons, nor will I ever tire of South Park. Like trine said South Park has an advantage in that they can take what's making headlines and parody it or poke fun at it. Which is hilarious. Did you all see the Ninja Star episode they aired last year...that poked fun at Janet Jackson's wardrobe malfunction...that episode of South Park was the funniest EVER! The Simpsons have lost some of their luster but like trine I can still laugh at the new seasons even tho they lack what the earlier seasons had. I like both so I can't say one is better than the other. |

You don't get that with the Simpsons - the Simpsons, possibly constrained by their prime-time slot and ostensible appeal to children, only ever poke gentle fun at people, the kind of fun that the targets of their mockery might even be happy participating in, as often happens. Although now I come to think of it, Family Guy has said some pretty ripe things too... |
