LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Fox took the last Monday of the 2004-05 season in the coveted adults 18-49 demo with the two-hour closer of "24." Meanwhile, CBS got its first taste of what the night will be like without "Everybody Loves Raymond."
"24" closed its fourth season out on a solid note, averaging 13 million viewers and 5.2 rating/14 share among adults 18-49, according to preliminary estimates from Nielsen Media Research.
CBS' comedy "Two and a Half Men" (14.2 million, 4.4/11) performed well in its first post-"Raymond" test in the 9 p.m. time slot. "Men" grew substantially from its lead-in, 8:30 p.m.'s "Still Standing" (9.5 million, 3.0/8). Perhaps the most encouraging sign for CBS was the slight growth that "Men" (14.8 million, 4.8/12) posted at 9:30 p.m. with a repeat episode.
CBS, as usual, had the night's most-watched program with 10 p.m.'s "CSI: Miami" (20.5 million, 7.1/18). NBC's competing "Medium" (12 million, 4.5/12) did respectable business with its freshman-year finale, building on its "Las Vegas" lead-in (11 million, 4.0/10).
ABC had little traction from 9-11 p.m. with its special "Nick & Jessica: Tour of Duty" (6.2 million, 2.4/6).
For the night, CBS prevailed in total viewers (14.7 million) while Fox was No. 1 in the demo (5.1/13).
