Many of its fans' most burning questions were answered Sunday night, on the season finale of ABC's hit series "Desperate Housewives." First and foremost, it was the lingering mystery of the show's narrator, Mary Alice, which was finally revealed. It turns out the now-deceased woman, and not her suspicious husband Paul, was responsible for the murder of a dead body found buried in their yard. Years ago, the childless couple acquired a baby (who they renamed Zach) from a drug-abusing woman named Deidre (the former wife of Mike the plumber). When a crazed Deidre came to reclaim her child years later, Mary Alice (who would later commit suicide) wound up stabbing her in an act of self defense. Meanwhile, a number of other characters' covers were blown in the episode, creating cliffhangers galore for the upcoming fall season. What will happen now that Gabrielle's younger lover, John the gardener, has revealed their affair to her husband? Will an angry Zach kill Mike? And did Bree's husband Rex really die of a heart attack? |
