"Jake in Progress"

I posted this question in the 'Movies' forum, but I thought I'd post it here, too, since it also pertains to a TV show and maybe someone who doesn't often check out the other forum will see it here and know the answer.

Question:
After hearing about the new John Stamos show "Jake in Progress," about a guy who's always been a player, but later decides to find one special woman and settle down, I thought that it sounded vaguely familiar to a movie that I once heard about.

Does anyone know of any movie that has a similar plot?

By the way, you can see a sneak preview of "Jake in Progress" on Sunday, March 13 at 9/8c on ABC.

Sounds a lot like Alfie. Speaking of romance, has anyone seen Hitch yet? I love Will Smith and the previews look funny but wanted to get an opinion before I saw it.

I'll have to look it up to see if that's the movie I had in mind.
