I have like no idea what this show is about, I watched it yesderday and I was confused.... I know that its about like and hour of day and something happens but can someone tell me about the characters, and like the plot. Thanks

if it's the new season your on about, all the characters have changed really so can't help you there.

The concept of the show is that the events that take place during a season happens during the course of a day, so 1 episode represents 1 hour in real time. Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) is an Agent with CTU(Counter-Terrorist-Unit), and he has to race against the clock to avert a terrorist threat. Each season tends to pick up about two years later, where the characters are in a different situation than they were previously. The current season has a completely new cast apart from Jack.

One of the main new characters is Secretary of Defense, James Heller. At the beginning of the season, Jack is employed to protect Heller and when Heller is abducted by terrorists, Jack is drawn into the investigation. It turns out that 6 nuclear reactors are set to melt down unless Jack finds a way to stop it.

The show is very involved so it's difficult to pick it up half way through the season. It's an excellent show though, so hopefully you'll stick with it.
