Plot Summary:
In the highly anticipated new installment of "The Terminator" film franchise, set in post-apocalyptic 2018, Christian Bale stars as John Connor, the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. Terminator's T-800 to be Played by...

The Clinton News-Record has revealed that former bodybuilder Roland Kickinger will play the T-800 in Warner Bros. Pictures' Terminator Salvation, coming to theaters on May 22, 2009. Kickinger talked about his role in the film, quotes that should be considered spoilers:

This month, however, Kickinger begins filming what is likely the role of his life to date, as his portion of Terminator Salvation begins to take shape.

"There's a very strong scene in the film where John Connor for the first time meets the Terminator, and he doesn't know if he's a good guy or a bad guy," said Kickinger.

"It's Arnold's character in the first Terminator. That's basically my role, but 20 years before, so it establishes how the Terminator [came] about."

Terrible Accident Puts "Terminator: Salvation" on Hold

Helena Bonham Carter (Sweeney Todd, Fight Club) has halted filming on the new "Terminator" movie to fly back to Britain after four members of her family were killed in a horrific car crash in South Africa. [via WENN]

Bonham Carter's relatives were on a safari holiday in the country when a minibus they were traveling in on Wednesday spun out of control and flipped over after a tire burst.

The actress' cousin Fiona Bonham Carter, 51, escaped with a broken shoulder. But Fiona's son Marcus Egerton-Warburton, 14, her mother Brenda, 74, and stepfather Francis Kirkwood, 75, all died.

Fiona's sister-in-law Kay Boardman, 54, also perished in the crash, in a remote area six hours' drive from Johannesburg. Bonham Carter has now been granted indefinite leave from the set of Terminator Salvation in Albuquerque, New Mexico to fly back to the U.K. to comfort her distraught family.

A source tells British newspaper the Sunday Express, "Everyone here was in a state of shock when the news came through. I saw an assistant of Helena's who told me she is absolutely stricken with grief. She can't believe what happened."

Terminator Salvation star Christian Bale (The Dark Knight) met up with Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger at the Brentwood Country Mart causing further speculation that the former "Terminator" series star may play some part in the McG-directed summmer 2009 film. Perhaps a cameo appearance or voice-over?
