Second "Tranformers 2" Set Report From Virginia Source: drx, TheBadandUgly.com June 9, 2008 Scooper 'drx' is back with another update on the Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen filming at the Udvar-Hazy Air and Space Museum in Virginia: I'm back one last time with a report about what I saw filmed at the museum on Saturday. Some potentially spoilerish stuff will follow, so be aware. I arrived around 10 and stayed until they broke for lunch (around 2, 2:30). Got to see a lot of stuff filmed, it was really quite interesting stuff. Shia, Megan Fox, and John Turturro were all on set. All filming pretty much took place around the SR-71 Blackbird today. When I first got there, Michael Bay was being pushed on a cart with a camera filming an RC car, an RC monster truck to be exact. It would roll past the side of the Blackbird and stop at the front. After several times doing this, Shia and Megan would then run and follow the RC truck along the plan to the front (Shia was holding what I can only describe as a plastic spoon probably standing in for something digital later). When he got to the front he would hold it up to the nose of the plane. Potentially big SPOILERS may be here in this next part, but the next bit filmed was John Turturro and that unknown actor in the green hoodie from yesterday filming a scene facing the front of the plane. After some flashes of light, Turturro freaks out and yells "Decepticon! Get behind the MIG!". So it's official, the Blackbird is a Decepticon, or at least that's what the characters think. After that they took a long time setting up and filming the RC car rolling straight towards the nose of the plane and stopping. They then placed a two foot tall cutout of a robot (what the RC car will transform into) in its place and took some shots to get references for the FX team. And finally, they had the car roll towards the plane and stop, then Shia crawled into view and held up his "spoon" to the nose of the plane. The last couple of scenes I saw before the broke for lunch was a scene with Megan Fox. It was far away from where we were allowed to stand and I couldn't hear any dialogue but the tiny robot cut out was standing off camera and she was looking down at it while talking. And lastly, Shia stepped in the scene next to her and was yelling at someone off camera (though again I couldn't hear any dialogue). So there you have it. I'm pretty sure they are done filming here. I'll ask my friend about what he saw them film in the afternoon and will pass it on if it seems interesting enough. \/ Unicron & Primus might also be in the film?? \/ Quote:

Source: ComingSoon.net June 22, 2008 While it was previously "announced" as "Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen," Superhero Hype! has learned that DreamWorks/Paramount has opted to make it Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen instead. Filming is currently taking place at the Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia for a June 26, 2009 release. In related news, Jalopnik has posted spy photos of the new Bumblebee (the 2010 Chevy Camaro Z28) as well as an unknown Corvette concept. http://jalopnik.com/396313/one-more-...camaro-ss-nose http://jalopnik.com/396734/transform...get-a-close+up http://jalopnik.com/396591/bumblebee...-around-philly http://jalopnik.com/396597/surprise-...transformers-2 | |

| Member of Sylar's Army ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Transformers 2 Spoilers things are leaking out. even the news that beetlejuice from the howerd stern show will make a brief appearance in the movie has leaked. the following comes from "the movie blog" website. This information about Transformers 2 comes to me from a trusted source that reveals what could be a very significant plot detail for the upcoming Transformers movie including some info on Rainn Wilson’s role, and why Sam goes nuts. Check it out… this information comes from the set of the film: It happens that they were in the classroom scene that was being shot yesterday with Rainn Wilson. The shoot was to cover two separate days within the movie, the first day of classes for Sam, and the second day of class. On the first day of class, Sam goes crazy just before getting to class for some reason. It seems there is some object that he was exposed to that affected him, our guess is the splinter from the cube. Anyways, Rainn Wilson asks the class to turn to the first page of the text book (which, apparently, Rainn Wilson’s character is the professor of the class AND the writer of the Astronomy text book that they are using in class). Wilson’s character’s name is Professor Colon (pronounced: koh - lawn). Everyone except Sam turns to the first page. Sam, instead, read the entire book in 5 seconds by just flipping through it, then starts telling Wilson’s character about what parts of his book are wrong. He also starts talking about how Einstein was wrong. Sam gets up from his seat and goes up to the chalk board and starts writing a lot of weird symbols on the chalk board (probably Cryptonian). Then he starts asking why nobody understands and then he leaves class. On the second day of class, he apparently returns, but acts less crazy. The reason we suspect that it is an object he touches that makes him crazy is because there was a scene shot earlier where he was on the phone with Fox’s character Mikaela, and he was asking her if she had “it” and then told her to make sure she doesn’t touch “it”. Our guess is the “splinter” (left over piece of the Allspark Cube), but it could be something else, of course. Oh, and the last scene that was filmed on Wednesday evening was of Sam arriving to class while riding the red motorcycle that people have seen in pictures. I don’t think that proves whether or not it is a Transformer or just a motorcycle, but it could be worthwhile information in the future. My guess is that it would be a piece of the All Spark that Sam kept after thrusting it into Megatron. That would explain why Optimus Prime thought there was nothing left of the All Spark at the end of the flick. Last edited by rlm; 06-27-2008 at 12:26 AM.. |

It’s one of the most closely-guarded secrets in Hollywood, and one that the hundreds of thousands of attendees at Comic-Con would probably kill to uncover … what, exactly, is Michael Bay’s plan for his bombastic follow-up “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?” Now, thanks to the team at IDW Publishing, we’re a little bit closer to finding out. The company has announced a five-part prequel miniseries entitled “Transformers: Destiny” that’s set to bridge the gap between the 2007 blockbuster and its Summer ‘09 sequel. And if it’s any indication, “Transformers 2” is going to be one interesting ride. “[We're going to] explore the background of The Fallen — the main villain of the movie — as well as expand on the ‘Reign of Starscream’ story that we’re doing and tie everything in to what this next movie is going to be,” explained writer Chris Mowry, who partners on the book with artist Alex Milne. “The next movie starts out with just tons of action and there’s obviously going to be a lot of questions, so we’re hoping to answer some of those beforehand.” At the end of “Transformers,” audiences were treated to a grand speech from Optimus Prime issuing the call for his off-world Autobots to head to Earth. We also saw Starscream blast into space after the defeat of his leader Megatron. So where did he go? Mowry’s “Reign of Starscream” miniseries — currently on shelves — answers that question and leads directly into “Destiny.” “‘Reign of Starscream’ starts right at the very end of that big last action sequence in Mission City. Starscream realizes that Frenzy, the little portable jump drive had accessed all the information the humans had about the All Spark, so he gets this idea of, ‘If I could get all the information that’s stored within Frenzy’s body, I might be able to rebuild the All Spark back on Cybertron and therefore everyone will think I’m this great leader.’ His motivations are more for the species. He’s definitely at odds with what Prime and Megatron have been doing. He thinks that they’ve both been consumed with greed, for their own selfish reasons, but as he finds out, his plans start to fall through as he’s kind of becoming overwhelmed with the same greed that they had.” Whereas “Reign of Starscream” expanded on the first film, “Destiny” will establish much of the second before fans are introduced to an increasingly complex storyline with multiple new robots. “We’re definitely taking every character that we can from the sequel,” said Mowry. “So you’ll see some Sector 7 involvement and how they developed into a new group that will be introduced. The same thing with some of the new characters, we’ll explain how they get to Earth. Because like I said, [the sequel] starts out with this giant battle so people will be wondering ‘Hey, where did that guy come from?’” While Mowry has yet to have direct contact with “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” screenwriters Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, he counts himself as one of the lucky few to have a complete script. That’s important to keep his story in continuity, Mowry stated, as well as to ensure he’s not stepping on the film’s plotlines. “We had this really ambitious script done where there were a lot of fan-favorites in there. [But] some of them are going to be making an appearance in the second movie so they asked us not to use those, which is understandable.” One of those fan-favorite characters is Soundwave, who finds himselves recruited for the sequel. But the character who gets the biggest transformation (pun intended) is Starscream himself. “He’s not the backstabbing, visual G1-type character,” Mowry revealed. “He’s more of like a military guy. So in ‘Destiny’ we’re going to see a lot more involvement with [the backgrounds of] Prime and Megatron, [as well as] Cybertron’s history and how that affects the present day. It all centers around the plot of the sequel which I obviously can’t get into. It’ll be explained but you’ll see a lot more expansion of their characters and their motivations and their destinies, if you will.” “Transformers: Destiny” will roll out in December. Quote:

As for the charges being dropped, I don't know. And the woman that was with him in his truck when the accident happened was actress Isabel Lucas who co-stars with Shia in "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen". She only had minor cuts, scraps, & bruises cause of the accident. |

Bay told "Access Hollywood" in an interview airing Friday that LaBeouf's left hand was significantly enough mangled that the script may need to be adjusted. "His two fingers are pretty smashed, but we're figuring out a way to shoot around it, kind of write it into the story," Bay told the syndicated entertainment program. A spokesman for Paramount Pictures, which is owned by Viacom Inc., said Friday that no final decisions have been made. Requests for comment from Bay left with his agent were not immediately returned Friday. The "Transformers" sequel "Revenge of the Fallen" is in production. Shooting has continued without LaBeouf, who plans to return within a month, his publicist Melissa Kates said. Industry trade paper Variety has reported that the shooting schedule for the film has had to be adjusted with at least several days lost because of LaBeouf's absence. On Sunday, the 22-year-old LaBeouf was charged with a misdemeanor DUI and underwent surgery on his injured left hand after his pickup truck collided with another vehicle at 3 a.m in West Hollywood. With him was Isabel Lucas, a 23-year-old Australian actress who plays a supporting role in the "Transformers" sequel. Police have said that the other driver, who has not been identified, was at fault in the accident. Speaking to "Access," Bay claimed his leading man was not drunk at the time of the crash and insisted that "that's gonna go away." After the accident, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Scott Wolf said it was "immediately apparent" to officers on the scene that LaBeouf was intoxicated. |

Now I'm coming at you with new TF2 news: Megatron is coming back. OK, I don't think there's a soul out there who will be surprised when Megatron returns in Transformers 2. If the current incarnation of the script follows the beats of a previous incarnation (which did not feature The Fallen), Megatron may be getting brought back by the Autobots, who need him to conquer the new menace. But I've learned that this time he won't be that weird alien jet. This time he's a tank. Last edited by RebelMan; 08-04-2008 at 01:33 PM.. |
