| Member ![]() ![]() | hey what it is when it is? No one has mentioned anything about Across the Universe. If you haven't seen it, you must! Without a doubt one of the best movies of the year. Even if you're not a beatles freak like me, if there is just one song by the beatles you like, you'll like the movie. You don't even have to know anthing about the beatles; all it is it's a love story and they just throw a bunch of beatles songs in there. Has nothing to do with the history of each song or the beatles. And it's something different then all the CGI action they cram into movies, or the predictable tired humor Judd Apatow keeps shoving down our throats. This has some new faces and different but really good choreography. You'll be sorry you missed watching this movie on the big screen. Also, don't get high before you watch the movie, because the middle of the movie, well things start to get a bit trippy there. Go watch across the universe, well worth $9, well $10 where I live. Anyone you has seen it, don't you agree? |

Carpio Genre: Musical, Romance MPAA Rating: PG-13 (for some drug content, nudity, sexuality, violence and language) Plot Summary: At once gritty, whimsical and highly theatrical, Revolution Studios' "Across the Universe" is an original movie musical springing from the imagination of renowned director Julie Taymor ("Frida," "Titus," and the Broadway smash hit musical "The Lion King") and writers D i c k Clement & Ian La Frenais ("The Commitments"). A love story set against the backdrop of the 1960s amid the turbulent years of anti-war protest, mind exploration and rock 'n roll, the film moves from the dockyards of Liverpool to the creative psychedelia of Greenwich Village, from the riot-torn streets of Detroit to the killing fields of Vietnam. The star-crossed lovers, Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood), along with a small group of friends and musicians, are swept up into the emerging anti-war and counterculture movements, with "Dr. Robert" (Bono) and "Mr. Kite" (Eddie Izzard) as their guides. Tumultuous forces outside their control ultimately tear the young lovers apart, forcing Jude and Lucy – against all odds – to find their own way back to each other.
