Question About the "Indinia Jones" Movies

I want to see the new "Indinia Jones" movie coming out next year sometime (because Shia Labeouf is in it) and are these the type of movies where you have to watch them in order? Like if you don't watch one, you won't understand the other ones? And would you guys say it's very violent and kind of scary? I didn't think they were. Please, let me know!

P.S. I know it's kind of early to be asking, but I would like to know in advance.

From what I know & from what I've read you don't have to watch the Original Trilogy in order to go & see "Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" when it comes out.

The Indiana Jones Trilogy is one of those rare sets of movies you can watch any one of them & you're not really missing much if you don't watch any of the others. But, I do highly recommend you atleast watch "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" first then watch "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade". Cause I think those two will have more references & I know for a fact atleast one character from "Raiders" will be in "Crystal Skull".

Ok, thanks for the help! Do you remember the old movies being very violent or scary? My friend at work was saying that in the old movies, she remembers someone's face melting off. But I think if I watched it now, it would seem kind of dumb with the special effects because it was made a long time ago. Like I said, the main reason why I want to see it is because Shia Labeouf is in it. But I'm sure they are good movies, too. Do we have any idea on what it'll be rated yet? The other ones are rated PG, right? I think just be on the safe side, I'll watch the other movies before I see the fourth one. I believe my Dad likes these movies and so he'll probably want to see the new one. When is supposed to come out?

i don't think the movies are scary. maybe for little kids, there are some things that can disturb them. melting faces, hearts beng pulled out. i wouldn't show a little kid temple of doom for various reasons.

as for the new one that will be coming out there are now two connections to raiders of the lost ark. indy's love interest marion is set to appear again in the movie. she's apparantly been kidnapped and just recently it was leaked out that a scene is being filmed where indy finds himself in the very warehouse that shows up at the end of raiders. if you watch raiders of the lost ark there is something special stored there. this was something that was leaked out some time ago when the script was being passed around. now it's reality.
but like mentioned you really don't have to watch the movies in any order.
raiders of the lost ark is the first one, then came temple of doom (which was actually a prequel) and then the last crusade. the only thing is that when you watch the last crusade there are some joke references to raiders and by what i heard the same will be said about this new one too. only those who have seen the previous movies will probably catch the injokes.

Thanks for the help. Weren't the first movies made a while ago? I remember watching the old "Star Wars" movies after I've seen the newer ones, and I was laughing at the effects in the old "Star Wars" movies because they were horrible. They've improved a lot. So I may feel that same way about these movies. So what is the exact order "Indinia Jones" movies go in? What are the reasons you wouldn't let little kids watch the movies?
