Default "Justice League" News/Rumors

Source: IESB.net
by: James Thoo

IESB seem to believe that they've snagged a doozie of a scoop, relating to the impending JLA movie. They've claim to have sorted out this whole CGI/motion capture controversy and even have the name of the dude who's going to step into Superman's tights!

So first of all: "Yes there will be motion capture used in the film but it will not be an all out “motion capture production.” Heavy motion capture will be used for the OMACs, the underwater sequences and such. So, all in all, this will be a traditionally made film with some motion capture characters, pretty much like every big fantasy movie these days." Sounds good to me, plus underwater sequences are awesome.

Second of all, if these dudes are right, then the guy approached to play Supes is none other than Tom Welling (TV's SMALLVILLE). This is of course unconfirmed at this point, but the information has allegedly been "triple checked out". And yep, this sounds good to me. If you ain't getting Routh, then it only makes sense to get the dude that people have already accepted as Superman on the small screen. Agreements all round? Now who the hell are we gonna get to play Batman?

Now "Justice League" has all the superheroes, right? Oh, I hope Tom Welling plays Superman! That'd be awesome. "Smallville" is my favorite show!

The original line-up is Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern, Aquaman and the Martian Manhunter.

Hm...I guess it could work. But Tom Welling is still playing a really young Superman. I don't know if he could pull off being the strong leader.

Kinda got to agree with you on that one Spoon.

Ryan Reynolds to Play Flash After All?
But who will play Booster Gold?
by Jeff Giles | August 21, 2007

Anyone who was heartbroken when the Ryan Reynolds-led Flash movie appeared to break down awhile back will read this item with great interest: According to an MTV Movies report, we might get to see Reynolds wear a lightning bolt on his chest after all.

The latest talk -- sparked by comments Reynolds made to MTV's Shawn Adler -- springs from recent reports of Warner Bros.' planned Justice League of America adaptation, a project which would presumably feature the Flash. Questions of Reynolds' involvement in JLA, as well as questions of a Flash spinoff, are only natural -- and Reynolds was perfectly forthcoming, telling MTV:

"'The Flash' isn't dead at all. There's talk of it being a JLA movie, the Justice League having them all together. And then there's other talk of doing a 'Flash' movie with [director] Shawn Levy."

Given that we're hearing reports of a mad dash toward production on JLA, it seems reasonable to expect that any solo Flash projects will come later on, something Reynolds seems to agree with. From the article:

When asked if he thought the JLA film might happen first, Reynolds told us, "[it] might, yeah. I don't really know how much I'm allowed to talk about that stuff. But I'm sure they'll figure out something. It's no secret that they have a JLA script and it's a project that's in development -- the contents of which, who knows. We'll see."

WB seems to be pushing production on the JLA movie. This doesn't look good for the Superman Returns sequel. It was originally scheduled for a summer 2009 release. It looks like it maybe pushed back or may not happen all. That's a shame. I prefer Brandon Routh to play Superman over Tom Welling.

Well, the Superman sequel isn't getting off to a good start because Singer doesn't seem to be doing anything with it.

Which incarnation of the Flash would Ryan Reynolds be? I'm assuming Wally, since he's young like Reynolds and is better known from the Justice League cartoon, but I'd love to see a more oldschool JLA with Barry as the Flash, and Hal as Green Lantern!

Yeah, Ryan would have been playing Wally West in the stand alone Flash movie & I guess that would still be the case if he ends up in the JLA movie.
