An Update on the "Transformers" NEW PICS ADDED

Michael Bay's official message boards Admin 'Nelson' has posted an update with info from Bay about Transformers:

1- They will be releasing more teaser posters in the coming months.

2- Paramount made studies and concluded that the TF "ANNOUNCEMENT" was the 2nd highest rated "teaser" this summer.

3.- They just finished shooting a lot of Pentagon interiors on a soundstage in scenes that involved many Chiefs of staff in their huge war room.

4.- Shia just was recently suspended over the edge of a 20 story building in a very dynamic and intense scene.

5.- The average transformation time from normal mode to alt mode and vice versa is about 3 to 4 seconds.

6.- The leaked pictures are legit (although a somewhat early rendering).

7.- Filming of massive chase scenes will begin in the following weeks.

8.- The CGI transformations by ILM are looking wicked and nastier every single day.

9.- Part 1 will be about why the transformers came to earth.

10.- This movie will be a new start for the live action franchise that will not be based on any particular TF TV series and/or comic book.

By the way, the top teaser of the summer was, of course... Spider-Man 3.

Yeah, go watch a clock and count three seconds. Now imagine Optimus standing there being shot at by Megatron while transforming at that speed. It's ****ing slow. Sometimes in Beast Wars they used slow transformations, because it looked cool, but when it was needed they were fast. Hopefully the transforming time isn't a constant.

maybe they did it that way so we can see how they transform from vehicle to robot mode. maybe they are supposed to transform fast but just for us in the theater they make them appear slower.

oh one other thing pictures of megatron were released earlier today, maybe yesterday, but were quickly taken down. didn't get a chance to see them. i had the pics of optimus prime in robot mode, don't like the flames, and i accidently deleted them. they were just pics of his head and his arm. for some reason there was one of those protect the innocent black bars over his eyes. weird.

Well, I was hoping that would mean they're not drawing on any stories or whatever. But the look of these characters is classic. Even in the recent comic books and anime, they don't look exactly the same, but they're very similar. Optimus looks like Escaflowne with a windshield on his chest. The only real distinguishable thing is his head.

And if they're not drawing on previous versions, why get Peter Cullen to voice Prime? And Bumblebee looks terrible. It's like they actually tried to make him look like some kind of futuristic bee.

Yeah, I can't wait either, but my reasons for wanting to see this are changing with every piece of leaked news. It's more or less just curiosity now instead of pure nostalgic excitement.

what the......? that's megatron. they didn't even bother to go with meg's original head. they should have stayed with the original head. optimus looks the same but megatron not. and hes an alien jet? to me megatron will always be a gun/tank or something that's used like weapon. man, i'm losing hope on this movie.

At least Optimus Prime resembles his original look a bit. He actually looks like he can turn into a semi, just like Incinerator can turn into a helicoptor.

But really...how is changing into an alien jet a DISGUISE, Megatron?!

Man, my hearts broken over Bumblebee not being a VW in this movie. It's Bumblebee, he's a Beetle, end of story. I'm boycotting this movie just because of this.

Apparently the story behind that is VW just wouldn't allow them to use the beetle for their movie. So I'm not blaming that one on Michael Bay and his team, but I do blame them for the stupid looking Bumblebee. I think what cheeses me off is that they don't seem to have humanoid faces. A lot of the Transformers did. These guys just look like killing machines.

I'm wondering where all the coloured plating goes when Optimus transforms. It looks like he's mostly his interiors with some of the red flame stuff sploshed around here and there.
