Terrence Howard to Star in "Iron Man"?

Ain't-It-Cool-News has confirmed that "Hustle & Flow" star Terrence Howard has been offered a role in director Jon Favreau's Iron Man:

So, that's the word. Terrence Howard has been offered the role of James Rhodes in the IRON MAN film. No guarantee he'll take it, but I think Howard is one of the most interesting actors working in the business today and his presence in the film will only make it better. Especially if we get to see Howard don a super suit in this film (or sequels) and kick some ass.

im so sick of this crap. "oh lets make him black just to make him black". they tried to do that with captain america in some stupid comic a few years back.

only war machine is black.

Maybe that's what their doing. Have War Machine have a cameo in "Iron Man" then if it's successful enough they'll make a "War Machine" Movie. Maybe that's why their looking at Terrence Howard.

Um, Darko...James Rhodes is War Machine. And he's black.

Favreau is earning all sorts of cool points for not only keeping true to the comics, but actually interacting and answering fans' questions.

I'm not sure he's right for the part, myself. Rhodes is a soldier, so I see him as a somewhat hard-boiled guy, a quality Howard doesn't really have.

Roger Cross (Curtis from 24), maybe?
