only good movie he had was the 6th sense. what i can't believe is that the guy cried when disney didn't want anything to do with the movie. something about them not understanding it. oh well. i see a big bomb with this one. a few will see it that pretty much it.

If I have enough money I'll go and see it. I like his movies. I think most of his movies fall victim to terrible marketing. They've marketed all of his movies as scary movies and they really aren't. Unbreakable was more about finding what you were meant to do in life and destiny, Signs was about fate (or destiny) and faith, The Village was about isolation. Of course, if people think the movies suck that's their opinion and they are entitled to one. I like the movies. People put too much pressure on the "twist" endings even though he doesn't do one in every one of his movies. Unbreakable didn't have one and neither did Signs.

I'm gonna go see it because I know it's not just a creepy movie, it's also supposed to be a fairy tale. A bed time story he told his kids.

He's not gonna keep making The 6th Sense over and over again. He's gonna take risks, some work and others do not.

I might end up seeing it because my friends want to. I'm just goin' along for the riiiiiiide.

It actually seemed kind of interesting when the teasers first hit, but then when I saw theatrical trailers and there was all the junk with the weird dogs and coming from another world or whatever, it started to sound less appealing.

Meh, I don't know, I doubt I'll see this. M Night made some good ones, but I was really disappointed with The Village.

Saw it yesterday. It is definitely not one of Shyamalan's best efforts. Way too psychological and introspective. One good scene and probably with cause, the film critic, after extolling on how his character would never bit the dust in a film, bits the dust.

Wonder if you all might have liked it more if it did not have Night's name attatched to it. I mean if you were watching it without on some level trying to figure out the twist. Has the man handcuffed himself with the success of his first film.? I like the fact that his name didn't appear on the trailer till the end(opposite of The Village that practically credited him from frame 1 of the teaser.)

reviews on this movie are not good (not that should be an indicator), but basically trashing it...never a good sign.

True, I expected more from the film with Mr. Shyamalan's name in the writer, director and producer slots. About half way through I found myself glancing at my watch, not a good sign, and wondering where this film was going and when would it get there. I glance at the reviews in the local newspaper but try not to allow them to influence my choice of films. In fact the lead reviewer, a bald guy with an earring in one lobe who looks somewhat like a small version of Mr. Clean, graded this film "C". If he had given it an "A", I would have known that it was bad; a "D" (he's never given a film an "F") and I might have found it quite to my liking. Bear in mind that this film is based on a bedtime story Mr. Shyamalan told his kids. It probably worked well. I gave it 6 out of 10 agreeing for once with Mr. Clean.

His movies are very well made, but his twists always seem to be a bit stupid, laboured. But sometimes really great movies have really crappy endings.
