"I've thought about it for a long time — even a longer time ago, actually," the director revealed. "But I don't know who would be the villain. I guess Batman would be the villain, but then he can't be too bad, because he is Batman. So not quite yet. ... I think Superman needs to have his own movies for a little while before that happens." Either way, Singer insisted that "everybody's excited to do more ... and I'm sure we'll do another one." \/ Full Article \/ Now that Superman has returned, what menace will he battle next? That's the big question in Hollywood this week, and since Brandon Routh was discovered in casting sessions for a once-planned "Batman vs. Superman" flick, rumors of the blockbuster smackdown have been resurrected. "I was at a party recently; Hugh Jackman had a benefit at his house," "Superman Returns" director Bryan Singer said. "I went there, and Christian Bale was there, and I suddenly felt like Brandon should be there too. I had all these superheroes around me." Routh added that while he enjoyed sparring verbally with "Batman" star Bale recently at the MTV Movie Awards, he'd prefer to see the two heroes work together. "I don't think we should go toe-to-toe, unless one of us is deranged somehow by some mind-altering drug," he laughed. "We shouldn't be fighting each other; we should be combining forces." Singer said he'd consider directing a "Batman vs. Superman" flick, but only after the Man of Steel establishes his identity a bit more thoroughly. "I've thought about it for a long time — even a longer time ago, actually," the director revealed. "But I don't know who would be the villain. I guess Batman would be the villain, but then he can't be too bad, because he is Batman. So not quite yet. ... I think Superman needs to have his own movies for a little while before that happens." Either way, Singer insisted that "everybody's excited to do more ... and I'm sure we'll do another one." And Routh had this word of warning for Bale: "I don't think Batman really, really wants to go and mess with Superman." |

| I think any fighting that happens between then should just be verbally, since both of them have such different ways of dealing with things and have different ideals. Though it's interesting that no matter how much more of a villain Batman may seem, and how frightening he could be, both will never resort to killing. But Batman will beat you to an inch of your life, then let the paramedics take over. |

Yes, I realize most of them are not supervillians, but just normal villians. | |

| The great thing about these two characters is that they're under the same studio, so it's so doable. Unlike the Marvel movies that are with Fox and Universal and Sony and whatever else, so it's harder to do anything special with crossovers. I mean, they all live in the same universe, but the FF can never mentioned Spider-Man. |

| hell no. it would be lame as hell. what the hell does he need batman for? unless hes beaten by kryptonite, he needs NO ONE. he flies at like friggin mach 539785935845. he doesnt need slow ass batman lagging behind. this isnt the comics where batman is like a super genius and superman is a whimpy baby who is always insulted by batman, who somehow manages to fly through the city on a rope at 500 mph. f that. superman would wink really hard and the force would send batman through a wall \m/ in short, movie superman > comics superman and batman = lame in every medium. |

Any time these guys meet in the comics, Batman kicks his ass. The reason he has to is because Superman has superpowers, so in order to balance things out to maintain some sense of tension, Batman has to have some advantage. And if Batman has any kind of advantage at all, it's a thing of nothing to crank that advantage up a notch and kick the crap out of the other guy. |

| Seems like something he'd do. In the Superman/Batman story I just read, Superman had his own Kryptonite ring inside his belt buckle. I'm not sure how he thought that would ever come in handy. |

| I think making it "versus" would be bad, but doing a team-up would be better. And instead of fighting each other with fists, they'd have problems with the team-up. You know, maybe there's some case that Batman's on, but Superman gets all into saviour mode and decides to take care of it himself, but Batman's like "No way, fool, this is my town. Go have sex with Lois." The best representation of Batman versus Superman was in Kingdom Come, where it was really about opposing views. Dialogue between these two characters is always way better than any action they're thrown into, because they both have such enormous respect for one another, yet they don't like the way the other handles things. |
