Who Will Play The Silver Surfer?

Who will play The Silver Surfer in the Fantastic Four sequel, appropriately titled Fantastic Four and The Silver Surfer? It appears that an actor might not even be necessary.

Moviehole talked to director Tim Story, who revealed a new bit on the character. "The Surfer will be a new CGI design being developed especially for the movie. It's going to be incredible."

20th Century Fox has scheduled a June 15 release for the follow-up, which again features Michael Chiklis, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans, Jessica Alba and Julian McMahon.

Sounds good. I figured they'd at least do motion capture like they did with Gollum or the same techniques used with Colossus in X-Men.

That slams the Vin Diesel/Wentworth Miller rumors. Silver Surfer is my all time fav.

The first FF movie sucked. They better not do to Galactus and the Surfer what they did to Dr. Doom.

Well, the thing with Doom is that they seemed to want to make him more...er, relevant, if that's the right word...to the FF. So he had that weird relationship with them and gave him powers the same way they got their, except that he took a different path and became all angry. With the Surfer and Galactus, they're just cosmic beings who have to connections to our world at all, so it's possible to keep their comic history and personalities completely intact, and just work the story around them.

Doom and Reed were already connected by being roommates in college. Reed wanted to advance science to help mankind, and Doom wanted to take his knowledge back to Latveria to make it a more powerful country, which he does.

Part of what makes Dr. Doom such a great villain is that he's really all about power. He always wants more, never being satisfied with being a ruler of his own country, being one of the foremost scientific minds on Earth, second only to Reed Richards, and one of the best sorcerers on the planet next to Dr. Strange. The guy doesn't like being second place.
