"Superman Returns" 2 Days Earlier!!!!

ComingSoon.net has learned that Warner Bros. Pictures will release "Superman Returns" two days earlier on June 28, a Wednesday. It gives the Bryan Singer-directed comic book adaptation two more days to collect box office before Disney's "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" opens on July 7.

In related news, Superhero Hype! is hearing that the running time for "Superman Returns" is 150 minutes, or 2 1/2 hours.

Yeah it is. It's 2 days less of waiting! I'll probably catch the first show on opening night. Is anyone going watch this in IMAX 3D?

By the way, some theatres are showing it at 10:00 PM on the 27th. Check with your theatre to see if that's going on.

ComingSoon.net's Superhero Hype! has now confirmed that theaters will start screening Superman Returns on 10:00pm on Tuesday, June 27th ahead of the official June 28th release date! This counts for conventional theaters, IMAX and IMAX 3D theaters. The running time is estimated at 150 minutes, or 2 1/2 hours.

In related news, a scooper told Superhero Hype! he got a chance to talk to director Sam Raimi on the New York set for Spider-Man 3. Raimi mentioned that we can expect the first teaser trailer for the third installment in theaters with Superman Returns! The scooper also got some more spoiler bits from Raimi on Venom in the film.

Spider-Man 3 hits theaters on May 4, 2007.

Cool! I'm not seeing "Pirates of the Carribean 2" (looks too scary), but I'll see "Superman Returns". Will I have to see the old movies first? Or do they not follow them? Stogieman, that's cool about the teaser to "Spider-Man 3". I hope it is true and I hope they show it in our theaters. Did it say it would be in every theater that they'd show that commercial? I remember seeing a teaser trailer for "Spider-Man 2" when we went to see "Agent Cody Banks 2". I'm pretty sure it was teaser trailer because they didn't show much and didn't really say that much about it. I can't wait to see a teaser trailer for the third one! But I don't really like them that much, just because it is a teaser trailer but I still want to see it and so I hope they show it at our theaters!

So would it be wise if I rented "Superman" and "Superman 2" before I saw this one? Would stuff make more sense? Since they pushed this back two more days, it is now coming out on my Dad's birthday and I think we will go see it opening day! I sure hope our theater does show a teaser trailer for "Spider-Man 3" . They showed a teaser trailer for the seconde one in our theater.

I would definitely rent Superman 1 if I were you. Superman Returns is suppose to take place somewhere between Superman 2 & 3. I don't think SR will cover too much of his origins. There are some flashbacks of him as a kid growing up in smallville but that's about it. Superman 1 is an old picture (1978) so the special effects are not up to par with today's standards but it's still fun to watch. The story is good and there are some great performances by Marlon Brando (Jorel), Gene Hackman (Lex Luther) and of course Chris Reeve (Superman). I certainly wouldn't hurt you to check it out.

^Ok, thanks for helping me out. I'm not sure if we will or not. Maybe we will after we see it. Maybe I'll ask my parents if they would like to see them and tell them that I'm not sure if it is really necessary or not, but it might help.

Superman Returns is suppose to take place somewhere between Superman 2 & 3. I don't think SR will cover too much of his origins.
