I'd love to have a fourth one just because of how the third one ended, but my sister doesn't think they will make a fourth one because of the title of the third one: "X-Men: The Last Stand". So if anybody knows if they are making a fourth one, can you pelase let me know? Thanks! ![]() |

It's still a good movie though, but he f*cked up just like everyone thought he would when it was announced that he would be directing. I just hope that the Prequels they are working on: Wolverine, Magneto, & Xavier will not disappoint whenever they are released. Same thing goes for the Colossus Movie they are still trying to work out. |

I just really hope Ian & Patrick do the prequels since how they both looked younger in "X3" in the scene where they meet young Jean Grey.

i just found out that there's two drafts to the script. maybe one of them is a prequal and the other isn't. but they're supposedly the same story, different takes or something. and ratner (director) might end up being attached to this movie as well. i hope not.

Source: Variety May 30, 2006 Despite the fact that X-Men: The Last Stand pulled in about $196 million in just four days worldwide (it cost approximately $210 million to make), Marvel Studios' Avi Arad tells Variety that they are going to move forward with the two spin-off movies instead of X-Men 4: A big second frame decline is thus likely. But with nearly $200 million in domestic grosses by next weekend a virtual lock, Fox execs won't be shedding too many tears. More likely, they'll be talking to their partners at Marvel about the next step for the franchise, since "Last Stand" was supposed to be the final film in a trilogy. "The first reaction, which we should discard, is here comes 'X-Men 4,'" said Marvel Studios topper Avi Arad. "We're working on 'Wolverine,' which is definitely a continuation, and we have a very interesting script about a young Magneto." We wouldn't be surprised if Fox does indeed talk to Marvel Studios about a fourth movie considering the phenomenal numbers the third installment has already brought in. We'll keep you updated on the spin-offs and if there's any other developments. |

| The Inner Light ![]() ![]() ![]() | How did Ratner mess it up? X3 was, by far, better directed than the first two. By far. Singer is overrated and Ratner destroyed the haters/doubters. Actually, the only thing I didn't like was the ending. I would have much prefered something along the lines of: Magneto sits at a chess table by himself. He's dressed in normal clothes. A young child comes up to the table. Young child: Can we play together? Magnet: Yes, we can. Which, okay, needs work... but something along those lines would have fitted in with the rest of the story/message much better. |

| There seems to be a 50/50 split about Ratner's directing. I've heard a good share of people say they hate it, and a good share of people say they loved it. So far I can't really figure out why people hate it with a passion. But as for those who liked it, I notice many of them are big fans of the comics, and since the two writers of this film are also huge X-Men comic fans, they included a lot of things that appeal to the fanboy. Iceman alone was the big thing for me. His little stunt while fighting Pyro brought a big smile to my face. In the end, I usually notice those who hate a movie have some big complaints, and then end up nitpicking the rest of the way through. For instance, I could say Iceman turning to ice was a cool part, and then the haters will go "Oh but d00dth, tha thee-jee-eye looked really gay durr hurr hurr my pre-conceived notions about this film are true because I never gave it a chance to begin with!" On a purely enjoyment level, this ones tops the other two for me. If you want to get deeper than that, X2 was the best since it had a better shaped storyline, there weren't really any useless characters (except Deathstrike, to a point), and the cameos were a little better and scarce. For those who hated the movie, here's something you can at least say they "did right" in accordance to the first two films: Cyclops was shortchanged! roflcakes I still can't believe how huge of a character he is in the comics, and yet he was so underused in all three films, especially since he and Jean are all buddy-buddy and she was given more to do. I think that in terms of direction Brett Ratner did an amazing job. I have never been so blown away as with some of the beautiful shots in this film. I think any problems lay with the rushed production and, as said before, unfortunate scheduling of actors and availability. I truly hope for more X Men films. :D |

Will they just be on certain characters? I really hope they just make an "X-Men 4" because they can with how the third one ended. Although, I'd say that the "X-Mens" were basically on Wolverine, but they had other characters in it (like Iceman/Bobby ). So I'm hoping they do a fourth one. When will we know if they will? |

| Junior Member ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A couple months ago, Avi Arad was talking about some great ideas for future X-Men movies (including ruining Days of Future Past), but that they were focusing on the spinoffs. Rumor has it that the biggest problem is cost. X3 cost $210 Million, but that was mainly due to Ratner overspending due to how fast it needed to be made. Considering how crappy it looked and the pathetic lack of any Phoenix Effect, I can't figure out how they spent $210 Million. Most of the cast needs to be re-signed, and will want huge pay raises (especially Halle). So the cost for X-Men 4 with the entire cast returning might cost in the range of $275-300 Million, if they kept increasing the special effects budget as well. X-Men fans would rejoice in the streets if Halle Berry was recast as Storm, so replacing her isn't an issue. Most fanboys also aren't happy with Anna Paquin's Rogue. But the studio insists on big name stars, even if they are terribly miscast and can't pull off the characters to save their lives. Most of the new cast members are signed for multi-film deals, including Ellen Page (Kitty). I would guess that Ben Foster (Warren), and Kelsey Grammer (Hank) are as well. Daniel Cudmore so needs to be recast, but he might be signed to play Piotr again. I have a feeling that Avi mentioned Days of Future Past not because it's kind of the epilogue to Dark Phoenix, but because it's a rather separate storyline and could be done without some of the expensive stars. Kitty Pryde is pivotal. The six X-Men still alive are: Kitty, Logan, Ororo, Rachel Summers, Franklin Richards and Piotr. Ororo could easily be replaced by a "cheaper" character. The cast for the present day could include the "cheaper" X-Men like Hank, Warren, Bobby, and Kurt. Maybe include Gambit or Jubilee. Heck, they could toss in Cable or Bishop even for more time traveling fun. My worst fear with Days of Future Past is that it is a storyline that the Fantastic Four could be easily added to, since in the future storyline, the FF died along side the X-Men, and one of the few remaining mutants is Franklin Richards. The cast of Fantastic Four would be cheaper than Berry, Jackman, McKellen, and Paquin. I have a feeling that Marvel will continue the sell-out and make the crappiest X4 possible, and forcing a bad X-Men/FF crossover would be just what I'd expect. But I also continue to hope that eventually they'll wise up and give true X-Men fans like Joss Whedon a chance to make a REAL X-Men movie. Days of Future Past would be amazing in Joss' hands. But, all the talk of the Wolvie spinoff or the Magneto spinoff, but about the spinoff all X-fans want! X3's Lawnmower Man in his own feature film! Last edited by Faith_Fan; 05-31-2006 at 01:16 AM.. |

Implication works better sometimes. I can just imagine if they actually showed it and people would be complaining about how gay it looked, and then would go on to say that if they had it once there, why not use a sh*tload in the rest of the movie?

I hope they make a fourth one. You said there were six X-Men still alive and you forgot to mention one, which would make it seven. You forgot Iceman, he's still alive. I would have hated the movie if he died in the third one, but he didn't. So that makes seven X-Men still alive. I like Rogue, though. But she doesn't count as an X-Men anymore because she got rid of her power. I thought everyone did a great job at their parts (especially Shawn Ashmore with Iceman/Bobby ). So I hope he is in the fourth one, if they make a fourth one and that's kind of why I'd want a fourth one.Quote:
