Life Aquatic 8.5/10

It was one of those films that got me all glassy-eyed and awed.

Some flaws? Sure.

But... man. The music, the low-tech effects, the way Ned's accent worked, the whole "Let Me Show You My Boat" sequence, the music, I've told you all that I'm a real soundtrack guy, right? The way the characters acted like real people where not everything resolves and sometimes things are just awkward. Steve's weird homophobia and the tossed-off payoff on it with Goldblum.

Through and through, this looks and feels like a Wes Anderson movie. I do believe, however, that this is very much going to be a "love-it-or-hate-it" kind of movie, like all his other stuff.

The point: if you liked his other flicks, you'll more than likely enjoy THE LIFE AQUATIC WITH STEVE ZISSOU. If not, then probably not.

The last film I watched was Corpse Bride. I loved The Nightmare Before Christmas, so I had pretty high hopes for this one. I think it's even more fascinating than the first one. I love the characters and the voices. The sets are great. Yeah, it's a great movie. I did feel like something was missing though, so I'll give it a... 8½ out of 10.

it was better then the last one but it seems they used up all their A material the first half hour, then it got boring fast...
