Amelia (2009) - 8/10 - Hilary Swank and Richard Gere give good but not Oscar-worthy performances. Cherry Jones as Eleanor Roosevelt was amusing. Pacing was a bit slow in places and Ewan McGregor's character needed more development.

New York, I Love You (2009) -

9/10

- All of the segments were very interesting but the ones which really stood out were: "Brett Ratner" with Anton Yelchin, Olivia Thirlby (hanging from a tree) and Blake Lively (not as big of a role as I would have liked her to have), "Mira Nair" with Natalie Portman (bald again), "Transitions" with Eva Amurri and Justin Bartha, and "Jiang Wen" with Rachel (super cute) Bilson and Hayden Christensen.

An Education (2009) - 9/10 - Carey Mulligan portrays a sixteen year old English student who falls in love with an older man and almost sacrifices her chance to attend Oxford. Undoubtedly the best film of the year so far. Definitely an Oscar contender.
