As a former student of Interlochen Arts Academy-which is considered to be the top Arts High School in the country, and whose former students make up 20% if this year's freshman class at Julliard-I must say I can't wait for this film to come out so that I can bash Hillary Duff to a hilt. Any one who has every been to real art school would realize that pop singing is so beneath the quality and talent of a classically trained voice, that is cannot be called singing at all.
I can sing with no microphone, no auto-tune, no back-ups in front of an audience of 5000 people and they all would be able to hear me and to hear that every note would be in pitch. This is what real vocal training does, people. You won't hear it in Britney Spears's voice, and you certainly won't hear it with Hillary Duff, Avril Lavigne, the Simpsons, Christina Aguilara, Kelly Clarkston, Beonce' or any other so-called pop "artist". Just so that you know, if any girl would have broken out in a pop or gospel song at Interlochen, we would have thrown things at her and told her to take some real music lessons. We wouldn't have crowded around her and cooed over how beautiful her voice was. Anybody can sing pop music, can she sing the Queen of the Night aria from The Magic Flute by Mozart?
That's what they really teach in art schools-not this pop crap. Give me a break, people. This music is so fake that I can't call it anything but trash. When Tyra Banks, Paris Hilton and Jennifer Love Hewitt all insist that they can "sing", I say that auto-tune probably produces more singing voices of today than their vocal chords do. Oh, and if you think that their concerts are performed "live"-you've got another thing coming. I've been in the recording studio before, and believe me, they have just as much tech. on their voice in concert as they do on their albums.
Give it a break Hillary-I don't care if you are 16, or any other age. Your voice is immature, undeveloped, and untrained. I could sing arias at ten with natural vibrato, I sounded like you when I was eight and every girl who was in school with me could sing Whitney's Houston's "I will always love you" while suffering from Laryngitis and still sound like Whitney Houston. Could you? |
