From SuperheroHype.com:

Quote:
Variety reports that Fox 2000 has set John Woo ("Paycheck") to direct and produce He-Man, a live-action film based on the characters in Mattel's "Masters of the Universe" line of action figures. Adam Rifkin will adapt the screenplay.
Please, no...

John Woo has only made 2 good films in his life, and neither are in English.

The most overrated director will ruin this movie for all of us. Paycheck was absolutely painful to watch. The worst movie I've seen this millenium.

God, no. The apocalypse is coming...

The Dolph version was bad enough.

John Woo has made a number of decent/good movies ...in Hong Kong only tho (such as Hard Boiled, Bullet In The Head, The Killer, A Better Tomorrow, etc). Everything he did in Hollywood sucked (except for Face/Off).

Generally, I think a new Masters of the Universe movie could be really cool. I only hope they write a decent script for it, don't get the usual asinine actors and don't use that much of CGI. Then it could work out.

Yes, it COULD be good, especially if they play it close to the original cartoon. Actually, it could very well kick serious ass.

Then again, we could always get The Rock as He-Man and a Scooby-Doo quality BattleCat

I'm convinced the man has lost his mind and is trying to commit cinematic suicide.

Hard Boiled and Face/Off are two of the most entertaining action movies of all time, so I suppose nothing can take that away from him.

FaceOff really wasn't that good. I still stick by my "2 good movies" comment, but some people did like FaceOff.

And if He-Man actually gets a good story involving the original setting, the original characters, and the overall feel of it, then it'll be great. If it's anything like Street Fighter the movie, which had nothing to do with the game, it'll be crap. If He-Man is as bad as the version with Dolph, then it'll be crap. Basically, it'll be crap if they deviate from the story at all.

Well I'm not really sure about the director I think a He-Man movie will be cool! Or it should be at least... :D
