| Hey! I recently took my girlfriend to this film and I must say that it is a hilarious film. The film is so honest about love and roles of men and women of today, especially in the entertainment role. The movie is about Harry (Jack Nicholson) who is dating Mirron(Amanda Peet) and how they decide to spend the weekend at a beach house in the hamptons, then while they're getting ready to go for a swim, Mirron's mom Erica (Diane Keaton) and her Aunt Zoe (Francis McDormand) think that Harry is a burgler or some creep. But it was just a misunderstanding and they decide to hang out and they have dinner and later on that night when Mirron and Harry decide to have a little bedroom fun Harry has a mild heart attack and he put under the care of Dr. Julian Mercer (Keanu Reeves) and when he meets Erica he kind of falls in love with her at his first site of her....basically after that I would be spoiling the fun out of the rest of the film... The film was about love and how love can appear in any form and at anytime. Definatly worth a watch for all you couples out there... ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

| I'm responding because I know it seems pointless to create a thread and have no one respond to it. Something's Gotta Give is what I like to call a "Trick Chick Flick." Usually, there are obvious guy movies (anything with Guns or Cars in it), obvious girl movies (i.e. anything with Mandy Moore), and hybrids that occasionally are able to satisfy both males and females with equal success. Then there is the Trick Chick Flick, wherein a movie looks as though it has enough to be one of those hybrids that I just mentioned, however, in the Trick Chick Flick, it turns out that it is all a ruse and it's a just a Chick movie designed to look like a hybrid. Angel Eyes with Jennifer Lopez did the same thing a few years ago. Saying that, Something's Gotta Give isn't all that bad, but I was expecting to see ole Jack getting way more trim than that and acting, well, just like he always does. It starts out well, but after about the first hour or so, the movie becomes purely a girl film. They could have knocked off about 30 minutes from the ending too. But I guess anything with Fav (my man Jon Favreau) can't be all that bad. |
