| Tightass-looking movies of the next few years: The Punisher-I don't care what you say, he's the most badass comics character out there. Why? because he doesn't have any special powers or abilities or even real motives. He's just 100% pure merciless psychopath that doesn't need to resort to super powers or any sci-fi/fantasy bs. He's not so much a hero (or antihero) as he is an irrefutable universal absolute. He's like Batman times ten, if Batman weren't such a pansy (Batman tries to be dark, but he has that "I'll never take a life" motto popular among so many comic heroes). Riddick Chronicles-Outside of Boiler Room, this was the only decent role Vin Diesel ever did. I think this is because the role is so close to Diesel in real life, because I hear he is a huge a-hole. Dawn of the Dead-I know it will suck, you know it will suck. We all know it will suck. Nothing can ever compare to George Romero's 1978 horror masterpiece. But I'm still going to file into the theater and watch purely because when they remade "Night of the Living Dead," it wasn't half bad. Aliens vs. Predator- My man Lance Henriksen is going to return for this one. They had better not mess up this fanboy's wet dream. And hey, maybe two or three future governors will be in it. Kill Bill 2-every fanboy out there nearly creamed his pants the first time around Resident Evil 2-There have been many, many zombie movies in the last year. Maybe this one will actually have something to do with the plot of the games... Movies still in limbo: Firefly-Film continuation of the Joss Whedon TV Space Western that blew the **** out of everything in the fall 2002 lineup... and was promptly cancelled by Fox (aka the devil). The only show ever to have the main protagonist shoot a cop in the face, throw a tied-up man through a jet engine, and lecture a fallen opponent on the quality of mercy before sticking him a couple of times for the hell of it. Mad Max 4-"Road Warrior" was awesome. "Thunderdome" was PG-13 kiddie pollution. Max needs an appropriate Rated-R conclusion. This is supposed to be hovering in the limbo of Pre-Prodution, but if Mel ever gets off the fu<biga>cking cross about "The Passion" and fully commits to this movie, it should be really good. Silent Hill-Supposedly they are making this movie to be released in 2005. If anyone has ever played the game, you'll understand why it is the sh<biga>it. The entire premise alone is like getting a<biga>ss-ra<biga>ped by a David Lynch Film, only you really, really like it. TV Movies: The Thing- A remake of John Carpenter's quintensential Horror film, where "Man is the Warmest Place to Hide." Sci Fi Channel's remake is supposed to be up in Fall 2004, and let's just hope they don't **** it up like they did with Battlestar Galactica. V: The Second Generation- This is supposed to be an NBC tv movie in the next few years. Pretty much everyone on this site is too young to remember "V" the seminal 1980's sci-fi classic which ID4 partly ripped off. Trust me kids, it has Marc Singer, aka The Beastmaster, and Freddy Kruger fighting against Nazi Space Lizards. Hey TrineX- Are you joking about the "Ivan Drago" in the Punisher? He was the original Punisher in 1989. He's not in the new one. He wasn't all that bad. He had great lines too. and btw, Ocean's Eleven sucked like a strung out Eastern European crack*****. Cop: "What the hell do you call 125 murders in five years?!?" Punisher: "A Work in Progress" [ January 04, 2004, 02:30 AM: Message edited by: Sylus ] |
