You shouldn't be surprised to hear that Lucas has already done some corrections to the Sith DVD. The original theatrical film is already history. What we saw in the theaters will not be offered. I haven't heard the exact changes he's made and maybe they're only small, yet once again Lucas has opted to do some tweeking for the DVD anyway. Lucas keeps saying that he has no intention of selling a 6 movie box set, I say just give him time. |

| Yeah, he says that now, but we all know it's inevitable. Hell, they were always saying there would be no OT DVDs until the prequels were all done, but we got them last year. I have a feeling, though, a complete set would be available by the time the 30th aniversary comes around in 2007. That would be a great way to celebrate it. |

Lucas might put the first three into a box set, but not all six, yet. I didn't know that he edits them before he puts them out on DVD. I didn't know directors did that stuff. Do they do that in a lot of movies or is he the only one that does that? |

| Well, Lucas is the only one who makes changes people don't like. There are other who change stuff, though. Like the Lord of the Rings extended editions, or all the directors cut releases of movies. I guess in essence these new versions of Star Wars are like directors cuts, but they've been such classic movies for over 20 years, so changing it at this point seems like a terrible idea. That and some of the changes were kind of silly. |

The difference with movies like Lord of the Rings is Jackson released the originals, THEN they released the long editions as a separate release. Jackson is beyond beautiful. Most DVD extras footages are found at the end of the movie in a separate chapter. Jackson went back and meticulously added the extras into the original footage, even redoing sound and music to fit. Almost no one does this at all. [ November 03, 2005, 02:38 AM: Message edited by: i love love ] | |
