Uncut "SAW" DVD coming out October 18!

I just noticed this and am hella exited. I always wondered what was different in the original NC-17 version (that was shown at Sundance) and now we can finally see... Amazon already has it for pre-order...

Here is a review of the Uncut DVD:

The Uncut Edition differs only slightly from the theatrical release; it reinserts a little more gore that was cut to get an R rating and tightens up the editing (the uncut version is actually a teensy bit shorter than the theatrical release). The extras are plentiful (if a bit thin): Two audio commentaries (one by director James Wan, screenwriter/actor Leigh Whannel, and Elwes), one by the producers--thankfully, no one takes themselves too seriously. Also included are a trio of typically self-congratulatory making-of featurettes ("He was amazing to work with" etc.), an animated storyboard of a sequence they couldn't afford to shoot, a DVD-ROM game in which you can construct your own puppet, a couple of self-mocking Easter Eggs, and lots of promotional stuff for Saw II. There's a very curious faux-news show purporting to be an investigation of the "real" Jigsaw, which uses clips from the movie as if they were documentary footage--it's hard to say whether this is a misguided attempt to make the movie seem creepier or a bit of flimsy humor. Most fans will find the regular DVD release satisfactory; this special edition is largely for hardcore enthusiasts. --Bret Fetzer

Me too... I didn't buy the other DVD in hopes that this one would eventually come out...

Another great reason to buy this special edition DVD... you get a free ticket to see Saw II right inside. It's accepted at most huge theaters like Mann, Edwards, Pacific etc etc.

The cover of the DVD is awesome. They placed a thin plastic membrane against the front cover, which is full of water and "blood", which floats around on the cover along with a small saw blade that floats around in there too. This packaging is just amazing for any Saw freaks out there. It reminds me of the hilarious snowglobe with the bloody snow in the deluxe edition for Fargo.

I saw the sequel last night. Not too bad, in my opinion, not as good as the original. The original writer/director/co-star had a co-writer for the sequel and it was directed by a new director altogether. It still had a very clever twist at the end as the original had. Shawnee Smith is too much, I better not say anything more for those of you that are going to see it.

I love the packaging of the uncut DVD... Mine didn't come with a free ticket, though...

The sequel was AMAZING... The best part (of course) was Shawnee. The end was brilliant, and my favorite part... I saw it three times, lol...

No free ticket? Oh man bummer. Anyway I agree a fantastic storyline again. Another killer twist, I liked it. Will we see a cottage industry for Saw in the future?
