"Batman Begins" Sequel is a Go?

Box Office Mojo talked to Warner Bros.' Dan Fellman who says that a Batman Begins sequel is now very likely to happen:

"I think people love the character, and it's been eight years since the franchise unfortunately took a negative turn [with Batman and Robin]," Warner Bros.' head of distribution Dan Fellman told Box Office Mojo. "It took the vision of a filmmaker like Christopher Nolan to bring it back, with a great script and cast. We're well positioned moving forward with the summer. We're going to have a first week of $85 million, and [Batman and Robin] had $59 million. That's enough to bring Batman back for a sequel."

yeah just as long as they don't bring in robin/batgirl in till like way way late.. like maybe batman 8

I miss the cartoon :(

Thanks for the info! I figured that after the way "Batman Begins" ended, they would make a second movie. Did people not like "Batman and Robin" or a sidekick or was I reading that wrong? I liked the sidekick, but maybe that's just me.

They actually did the ending that way just to make people go :eek: :D , but the director said if Warner Bros. wanted a sequel he wouldn't mind doing one.

There's nothing wrong with there being a Robin, since Robin is s big part of the Batman franchise. It's just that the movie Batman and Robin was done so horribly. It just became a big joke.

yeah robin was a little old.

Nah I don't like robin as much because he was created only to capture the kid market because it was an "older" comic. It's a shame but they did this with a lot of hero's with kid sidekicks

Oh, thanks for the help! I just read that wrong, it was the movie that they didn't like, not the sidekick part.

I should hope they don't retread on what the original Batman and Batman Returns already accomplished. People are getting entirely too worked up over this new film and I don't want to see anyone try to remake the entire Batman timeline. I can't imagine how they could possibly improve upon Jack Nicholson's Joker.

Of course! That's what brought Batman into the mainstream. I love that show.

Hah, that would be awesome. His Joker voice is far better than anything anyone else has ever done for the character. They need someone with a really long, pointy face, though.
