| So I saw it yesterday, and it is now my favourite Batman film. 8/10. Going more into why he became Batman was what the other films were lacking. He never had a proper origin story. It was always just "My parents were shot and killed, now I hate criminals. I'll put on a bat suit because it's scary." Now they have the whole thing with the League of Shadows and Henry Ducard teaching him all them things about conquering fear, becoming fear and all that, and his intense training to make him the fighting machine we all know and love. The only thing I didn't like was that Batman wasn't as detectivey as he should be, but it's forvigable since it's only his first time around as Batman in this movie. Michael Caine was good as the new Alfred. He's old, kind and British, so I guess it's not hard to be Alfred. I was actually surprised by Katie Holmes. She did a good job as that DA, and I'm glad she wasn't a damsel in distress, or just a love interest. Gary Oldman as Gordon was bloody fantastic! Those glasses and that mustache are so Comissioner Gordon. Christian Bale did a great job as Bruce Wayne and Batman. He was the cocky, businessman, billionaire playboy as Bruce, and the hardass as Batman. I just didn't like his grumbly Batman voice. Keaton still wins at that game. Overall, excellent movie. Batman has finally been done right again, and I really hope they do a sequel. That little surprise at the end brought a big smile to my mouth. A big, teethy, red-lipsticked smile. ;) |

| After seeing this film, I don't have one clue why you rated it as low as you did. This movie is definitely 9 status.. i'd say 10 but that would require perfection. This film.. replaces the first batman movie if you can believe that. Although I liked Michael Keaton as batman, I can't deny that Bale did a far better job of showing the Bruce Wayne and the Batman as seperate entities. Not only that but the director did a great job in realizing that less is more. Some of the action you don't see, you hear it or see only specs of it and you get the drift that batman just cleared the house. Not to say he didn't have some good fight scenes, because there were quite a bit of it but the way the director took this film gave it that impression that the action was happening and that it wasn't some choreographed dance scene. I loved how this film explained things and let you learn about Bruce Wayne and the torment that he goes through. While the other films gave an impression, this movie shows you the world that Bruce Wayne lives in and how his obsession with his fear molds him into what he became. I for one can't wait for sequels and I hope to God they retain the entire cast/director. This film is going to give Marvel a run for it's money. My friend and I joked that because of batman coming out, they might just push Fantastic four to come out next year in order to make it better ;p |

I was smiling like crazy when I finally saw "The Tumbler" Chase Scene all the way through. I really hope they do something like that again in the Sequel. I loved how "Gordon" got to finally show how strong he is. Seeing how "Dr. Jonathan Crane" was pulled off was interesting. Hope he comes back later on if this Franchise continues. "Ra's Al Ghul" stuff was very interesting. I loved how "Bruce" got his suit in pieces instead of all at once. Love the New "Batarangs". Will be interesting to see who the New Villian will be in the Sequel since the way this one ended. Oh & the bats where badass. [ June 27, 2005, 12:16 AM: Message edited by: rebelman20 ] |

| Batman Begins is one BADASS movie. I love how they show the true beginning of batman and what made his choose the path that he did. The coolest part of this movie is it shows that batman has a dark side to him, hes not all "boyscout do good all the time superman". Batman is more like a vigelante and I think it definantly shows up in this movie. The action in this movie is increddible and the voice of batman is so inttemidating that it made me tremble. I think that I would have given this movie a perfect rating except for i think that they made the scare crow a little weak but besides that this movie is damn near flawless. Also all his bat toys he has in the movie are awesome "especially the batmobile ". You have gotta love the scene down at the docks "the first real batman fight scene" when you hear him soaring around in the surround sound speakers just picking off bad guys without the other ones even being aware that something had happened. Definantly a must see for any super hero fan and really a mush see for any action/sci-fi fan at all. I give this movie 9/10. |
