| Some interesting facts about the making of the Chocolate Factory • 1,850 real chocolate bars were made for the film. • 172,000UK gallons (206,563.48 US gallons/781.92 metric tons) of chocolate were made to create the luscious chocolate river • 32,000 UK Gallons (38,430.41 US gallons/145.47 metric tons) were made to create the chocolate waterfall • The lollipops that hang from the trees in the Chocolate Room are all actually real and extremely delicious • 10,000 toothpaste containers, filled with watered-down wood glue, were created for the toothpaste factory scenes • The pink glass boat in which Willy Wonka and the kids travel down the chocolate river measures 30 ft X 9ft and took 20 weeks to build • 60 gallons of white paint were usted to paint the TV Room • The actors are working in real sets rather than a blue screen. Tim Burton wanted to create realism for the children to make them feel like they were "really there" |
