Looks alright. For some reason Depp reminds me of the dude from A Clockwork Orange.

I first heard this was coming out like a month ago, but never got any other information on it.

Thanks for this!!

Btw...I dunno if it says so on the site, cause I didn't really read

But is it true it's gonna be darker than the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory? Like the true story of what happens is more evil?

Kinda like Alice In Wonderland?

Anyways, thanks again!

I think Tim Burton is going for a bit of a darker twist, but I don't think that's the way it's supposed to be.

I read the book. It's a children's book. It's just a fun book.

Me too. And you can't really go wrong with Johnny Depp either.

I heard the original version which was the book, is somewhat...macabe, bizarre, not G-rated version for kids. And now they intend for this new one to be like the book totally.

Really? I don't know. Maybe it's the adults twisting everything around. If it's not so G-rated and for kids then why the hell was it in my elementary school library? Oh well.

From the poster, I believe it. Wonka looks like a ghoul with that white skin.
It would be an interesting take to bring this story to that level. There were definitely plenty of weird moments in the Gene Wilder version.

Yeah....what I HEARD...is that the REAL story...is was more like, Wonka seduced the kids to his factory, and tried to murder them or something.

Dunno if it's true or not.

Lokks great. Burton's the ideal director (for me) to do a Roald Dahl book. And Johnny's great for playing Wonka. Shame I have to wait until July '05 :(

Roald Dahl wrote a lot of children's books, all of them darkly funny. He wrote lots of books for adults too, all of them dark and very disturbing. His series of short stories for those of you who don't want to go to sleep is "Tales of the Unexpected". He also, for reasons unknown, wrote the screenplay to the Bond film "You Only Live Twice".
