I agree that this was not a good move on the writer's part...other than to show that Jack will even torture his own family members to save the country. My question is: Does Jack know that his brother was the one behind last season, and selling him to the Chinese? Or does he have other reasons for beating his brother up. And looking at next week's previews, looks like his father might be dirt too. |

I understand the writers really go for that formula of suspending your disbelief, but I had a harder time believing this than I did a nuclear blast in LA and the US government working with a terrorist mastermind. | Ya Rly! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I think Jack must have at least some idea of what his family's up to. Maybe he learned it in China or something. He seemed pretty certain that they would have the answers he wanted. The fact that he was so willing to torture Graham may indicate he knows something, anyway. Then again, he was willing to torture Audrey when he thought she was a traitor... Last edited by Gumby; 01-27-2007 at 01:18 AM.. |

Well, both of you. I found this week's episode kind of slow. Lots of facts, little action. From the looks of things, we'll most likely get to see Jack kill his own brother before the day is over. That'll be cool. Had no idea the new hottie at ctu was an arab. I guess all 24 hours can't be non stop thrills. |

Maxim? They closed that? No way. Wait wrong meeting! This was an episode with more set-ups, whereas some episodes resolve a lot. Can't blow everything all the time you know? You know what they really should do tho? ERASE SANDRA PALMER AND BRING BACK MIKE NOVIK. "Oh like you can't do that. No really, see here constitution". Am I on the wrong here? If I see her tilt her head 45 degrees before delivering every line and open her eyes REALLY WIDE to come off convincing, it ain't cuttin' it!!! I felt like just about everyones performances were very stiff this week. Even Jack and Graem's performances felt too forced until the last 5-10 minutes of the episode. The massive character turnover is starting to hurt the old faithful. You just can't kill that many legendary 24 characters and replace them ALL with legendary 24 characters. Let's face it, they struck gold with Logan and his wife last year, on screen magic. They can't always cast it well. Wayne has been awesome in his previous roles, but he's the worst president 24 has ever had. EVER! Fortunately, Jack can carry the show through multiple bad subplots until it picks up steam again if that need be. ![]() Last edited by Captain Beefheart; 02-01-2007 at 04:55 PM.. |

| Ya Rly! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | DAY 6: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM Well, we didn't get to see much of Jack's dad, but that should definitely pick up next week. I liked that this episode wasn't quite as fast-paced, and set things up for the rest of the season. I especially like how they're handling the whole racial profiling thing. Marisol Nichols = teh hawt. I think something will happen either to Milo or to Morris. I hate Sandra Palmer. Bring back Mike Novic. Now. Oh, and I want Aaron Pierce back, pronto. You can't have a television president without the coolest no-nonsense Secret Service Agent ever. I kinda like that they're not being too specific on what the Bauers' company does. It sounds like they're some sort of government contracter who move and dispose of nuclear waste or something. For some reason, the idea of Jack Bauer coming from money just doesn't sit right. But man, do Jack and Graem ever hate each other! That comment about Teri was way below the belt; I'm surprised Jack was able to stop himself from caving in his face. Tom Lennox is a slimeball. I just know that he will probably have something to do with the return of former President Logan. Gregory Itzin was ROBBED of that Emmy! I also think that eithre Bill Buchanan or his wife will be dying soon. Bill's lived too long for a Head of CTU, and with his wife coming back, she'll either take over or be the one who dies. The scene with Jack and Graem was outstanding. If Keifer did not win the Emmy for the scene in which he killed Curtis and the aftermath, then this is the one that will do it. Cromwell is awesome as Jack's dad. Could be the best 24 villian since my favorite from the first season, Gaines. Morris may be a sarcastic little twit, but he's an excellent character who deserves, I think, to have a bigger role. There could actually be a chance that we won't see Wayne's sister again. This episode could have been the close to that story arc. Don't know if there is any need for her or Walid anymore. And that would be a good thing. Remember kids, 2 hours next week starting at 8 PM. |

| Ya Rly! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | For those of us keeping track... Day 6: 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM I'm still not sure if I like the storyline revolving around Jack's family, but "family" seems to be the central theme of this season, as most of the characters are facing this crisis with their family involved in one way or another (Jack and his family, Chloe and Morris, Bill and Karen, Wayne and his sister). I agree that Kiefer knocked it out of the park acting-wise during his interrogation scene with Graeme, especially when he flipped out when he learned about Graeme's involvment with Logan and Henderson. He really must get an Emmy out of this. But, part of me wonders if Emmy love is part of the reason for their creative decisions this year. Does Phillip Bauer rank among the likes of Ira Gaines as a "24" villain? Murdering his own son to protect himself -- er, "the company" -- is pretty damn cold. I do want to see how their story pans out, hesitations notwithstanding. I also agree about Morris. He's entertaining, but at least they're giving him a heart and not making him a simple cartoon. Although, I do think he and Chloe are perfect for each other Wayne Palmer and his sister are dumb. Well, at least Wayne has the intelligence to see through Lennix's little scheme. I just know that either Bill Buchanan or Karen Hayes buys it, though. Gotta love Powers Boothe coming onto the show as the Vice President. Can't wait to see what they do with him. |

Funny, the way things happened Jack's dad will definately be close enough to him now to kill him...and as we've seen, he most likely will try at some point. Do we think Chlowe's boyfriend will survive the show? He doesn't seem like the type that would be able to stand the torture they'll put him through. Let's get rid of Palmer's sister. Palmer's liberal enough, we don't need her too. It will be interesting to see who in CTU is working for the other side..they always seem to plant one there. I see next week the "good" terrorist is back. I'm still not 100% behind him either. If he remains good, I'm sure it was the writers attempt to balance things with the arab viewers. It should be interesting to see how they're planning on Killing palmer. I for one wouldn't mind it being done...and if Jack will be involved in stopping it. Jack's father is one rotten B*astard. Jack may have to kill him too. Anyone else notice CTU is 5 minutes late to everything. |

| Ya Rly! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Day 6: 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM A good two-hour block of 24. I really liked how they slowed down on the action and developed the supporting characters some more. Even though Tom Lennix is a weasel (and now a conspirator in the assassination of a president), it's clear that he's a guy who wants to fight terrorism, but doesn't believe in following the law against an enemy who have no law themselves. One thing I agree with Lennix about, though, is that Wayne Palmer is NOT David Palmer. That may be the show's intentions, though, which is a nice way to show respect to David and keep his memory alive. I did like his scene with Assad, though. Wayne's done enough negotiating with terrorists today, and I would like to know what the "heavy price" was to bring Jack back from China. Morris' torture scenes = The girl got what she deserved, though. One thing that is getting old is Fayed's ability to sneak through a CTU blockade every time. I mean, come on...maybe CTU needs to stop recruting their agents from mall security. They're quickly becoming this generation's "Star Trek Extras." If they're on a mission, you know they're dying first. Phillip Bauer is one cold dude. He kills his own son, threatens his grandson, and will probably try to kill Jack later. Cromwell plays him so well. I cannot wait to watch him face off with Jack. I want more Powers Booth as the Vice President. He's one of those actors that is able to develop a character's personality with very little screentime. Watch "Frailty" if you don't believe me. Can't wait til Monday! |

| Ya Rly! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Day 6: 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM A pretty good episode, overall. I hope they don't make Morris' drinking thing a soap opera storyline, although it is interesting to see how someone deals with both being tortured and having it break them into cooperating. I really liked what they're doing with Lennox. He may be a creep with bad ideas, but at least he's loyal to the president. Reed is a bastard. Badass Milo? Cool. The best part of the whole episode can be summed up in one word: LOGAN!!!!!!!! |

| Mu nótahu ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | My 2 cents: Average season for me so far, seen through the eyes of someone who's seen every episode of every season (some more than once). Thing is, what's average in 24 still has huge quality. I'm still yearning for each Monday, but I would be fooling myself if I said the excitement is the same as a few years ago(somedays I'll actually forget it's Monday but since I have Tivo'd the whole season). Maybe because obviously the freshness factor is gone, it's season 6 after all. There have been a few plot threads that are rather formula, but they're running them quite differently this time round. Mainly by how violent and extreme this season has been so far (especially that drill section on Morris, holy crap that was gnarly!). In 9 episodes more people have died than in any other year(can anyone confirm body count, Gumby?). So therefore the presidential deposing might work this time around, so I'm withholding judgement on that. Gregory Itzin SO got screwed on the Emmy last year. Glad to see him back! ![]() |

There are two rules on this show. You're not gone unitl you're dead.....and you always have the chance to be dead. I hope they don't make Logan too much of a good guy here. Still waiting to see who in CTU is the mole this season, or who's going to die. Thought is might have been Milo, he turned out to have some balls. Once again though, CTU shows up 5 minutes late to the party. and...I can't believe Jack's father did not kill him...or at least try. Last edited by Bill5461; 02-26-2007 at 07:29 AM.. |

I had joked to my wife that he would discover the bomb...and he did. I should write this stuff. So, they're letting Logan out. What kind of mayhem will he be up to. Maybe joining forces with Jack's dad? Boy that Clowie is becoming a nag. Can you imagine being married to her?. Looks like Jack will be doing some torturing next week. Can't wait |
