Harry Potter - The Daniel Radcliffe Appreciation Thread
Eternal_Element says: Well, I believe he plays Rudyard Kipling's son. It's for television and I believe it's airing in the UK on November 11th. Here is the plot outline on IMDB: Author Rudyard Kipling and his wife search for their 17-year-old son after he goes missing during WWI.
Here is an article I found from the Daily Mail: If further proof was needed that Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has left behind the world of magic and spells, surely pictures of him sporting a moustache should do the trick.
In his first TV drama role since finding fame as the schoolboy wizard, Radcliffe, who turned 18 last month, stars in the World War One film, 'My Boy Jack' where he trades his school uniform for the rather more mature attire of the Irish Guards.
However the familiar specs are still there.
The true story looks at how Rudyard Kipling used his influence to get his 17-year-old son Jack (played by Radcliffe) a commission with the Irish Guards, despite his son's poor eyesight.
Jack went missing in action during the Battle of Loos and his mother and father carried out an ardent search for him, spanning many years and many miles of soul-destroying discovery.
The part is a further stretch for Radcliffe, worth a reported £23 million, who is keen to play more 'adult' roles as he approaches the end of his time playing the hero of JK Rowling's phenomenally succcessful 'Harry Potter' series.
He recently received resounding praise for his first (and rather daring) stage role in Equus which included full-frontal nudity.
Radcliffe can currently be seen in the fifth film of the seven-part series, Harry Potter and the Order Of The Phoenix.
