Eliza Dushku - Dollhouse Production Progress
Tru Faith In Eliza says: Article in USA Today: Fewer new shows on slate for fall TV in wake of writers' strike
Networks will unveil next season's lineups in New York next week, but the usual pomp will be subdued. For some, star-studded presentations and glitzy parties will give way to stripped-down events.
And this fall, viewers will see fewer new shows and more modestly rated holdovers because the writers' strike has delayed new-show development. The networks are considering about 70 new series for next season, down from 100 or so in past seasons. But the majority of pilot episodes they'll pick from haven't been shot yet, so many will contend for midseason spots. A big trend: dramas that blend weekly procedural cases with expansive character development. And in this strike-hobbled season, networks are expected to lay bets on big-name producers with top track records. Strong fall candidates: •Dollhouse (Fox), from Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Joss Whedon and featuring its co-star, Eliza Dushku, about a team in a high-tech dorm, both specially equipped to handle secret missions. source: This could be good...Dollhouse could gain viewers simply because it might be one of the few new shows to make it out on time....and there are some indications the Hollywood Reporter story on Dollhouse being a mid-season replacement might not be true and Fox is still working to get it on in the fall. Oh, and by the way - the photo above has a Fox credit on it...could be the opening salvo of publicity for the show... Original post: Dollhouse Production Progress |
