Default Tay Zonday: A new star is born...

The piano melody combined with the crazy deep voice constantly repeating the phrase has the instant meme appeal. But it does have depth, I wouldn't be STILL listening to it for the 4,000th time tonight. Some of his other tracks are also really freaking great, he's a quirky individual doing something no one else is doing and riding a wave of something thats not really happened before like this. He wouldn't far if he was a talentless star wars kid.

Oh, I hate that song, but I saw some of the parodies that day when YouTube featured all of them, and some of them were funny.

The repetition is probably maddening for ya, but that piano line is dope, his voice is great and those lyrics are pretty damn good.

Here's an interview he did:

I really like his take on relationships and his economic savvy:

Quote:
This is why corporate sales are down across the entire industry. It’s not because everyone is stealing music. It’s because they woke up to the fact that musical categories, racial categories, and all these other things that are sold to them as their identity, are contrived. They are just the most reliable way to grow the next economic quarter.

The comparisons to Michael and Janet are flattering. But I think they come from people who are trying to hold onto a sense of category in a world where everyone is making their own categories. I defy category. I’m the new route to the next economic quarter. My demographic isn’t black, white, brown, young, old, straight, gay, or any of the above. It’s real people. People who don’t need labels as shortcuts to who they are.
