Opeth and Emperor should be your favourite.

Charlespt, I like all those things too but not much to say about house 'cause i can listen to only some of the samples mostly the combinations of styles and not the pure house. Butr I really do like listening to the dream house and realx-dream house they are so sci-fi like (sorry, I cannot find the more proper word for the description of dream house)

I've heard a bit of Helloween and I liked it. Never listened to Stratovarius, and I love Iron Maiden. I think power metal is great. I also really like Iced Earth and Blind Guardian, and of course their side project Demons and Wizards.

I listen all kinds of music, but metal is what I always come back to at the end of the day. It's what I listened to before I got into other stuff, so I will always like it just a bit more than everything else.

I prefer rock. I listen to modern/alternative, funk, indie, and metal rock, but it becomes all too mixed up for my liking. Rock is rock.

I love Blind guardian too. I like Spread Your Wings song and well, I kinda heard a lot and like almost everything from their creations. From Iron Maiden I can say that I like The Seventh Son of the Seventh Son album and some of the Bruise Dickinson's solo compilations but not those Maiden were doing without Bruise Dickinson. He is the real soul of the band.
Have you heard of such russian band as ARIA? I think you might like it although it is not power metal it is more like a classic metal rock like Manowar.
and one more thing - what do you think of NIGHTWISH?

So, mostly any kind of alternative rock is what you like?
do you like such bands as RHCP, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Tokyo Hotel, Guano Apes, Korn, Marlyn Manson, Tool, 3 Doors Down, Anouke, Scunk Anansie, Papa Roach?

Do you like Punk rock? What do you think of Green Day?

Yeah, I didn't like the non-Dickinson Iron Maiden era either. It wasn't just because of the vocals. It just seemed like they didn't put their hearts into the music. I think if Dickinson and Harris left, Iron Maiden would fall apart.

Never heard of Aria, but if they're like Manowar...eh, no thanks.

Nightwish is a little too over the top for me. I haven't heard much, but I don't really feel like listening to more.

Rock. I dunno...'rough rock' usually (alternative, garage, punk), but lately I've been listening to a lot of indie. Folk. I also like some classic stuff.

Could you advice something from folk music for me - something really worthy of listening to?

Aria is more like the combination of styles and theyt have something from Manowar to Iron Maiden. THe style they usually perform in is called Metal and Hard Rock, I would say more to a Metal Rock. Something like Iron Maiden, Helloween, Therion but unique. The vocals of Valery Kipelov (singer) are very good....but unfortunately just as it happened once to Iron Maiden, he left the band to make his solo compilations. I do not really like ARIA since then. But what they did in early times resembles more to Iron Maiden. I think if you had just once heard them you would love 'em. Manowar is more to a hard Rock I guess but Aria is more to a Speed and Power Metal......and some romantic metal ballades.

I like NIGHTWISH but I would say yes that it is something very hard and heavier than Metal although the style is called "Gothic Metal" (sometimes Vagner Metal) I listen to them 'cause it is the best among those that perform in this style. Tarja Truren sings very good, but I do not know what is going to happen to the band after she left it.

Have you heard anything of THERION?

I do not ask now about something heavier 'cause I really do understand that something like My Dying Bride, Tiamath, Covenant or Dismember will not do for you

They've chosen a new lead singer, they should be recording soon, if they aren't already.

I've heard a little Therion, I wasn't impressed. I do like My Dying Bride though.

THerion is a bit softer to the My Dying Bride so no onder you liked it less, besides I would say they have different styles.
