oh and I really wish to hear the new album of the Nightwish. Hope they have found someone who is just as good as TArja or even better.
I heard she got married to an oil tycoon and she has compiled her new solo album these days

Glad to know that there is someone who does not follow only one style of music here as well.

Rock! anything that rocks. if it rocks and feels good it rocks.

i used to like rap but since it's become nothing more than "i own this and i got this and bling bling this and i have these many women (other word obviously used)" i just hate it. yes i hate it and hate is a strong word.

Oh, come on you guys. Why make fun of me when you all know what I mean? I'm not the kind of person who's obsessed with classification and I couldn't care less how the bands I like are genred.

Spoon, when I say metal(I actually did not mean metal rock. The rock part was sort of the word you could put behind all of the words; alternative rock, indie rock, funk rock, etc.), I don't mean metal like the kind you listen to, and T-J listens to. That's hard growling heavy metal and black metal, which is not what I prefer. Metal that I'd listen to could be bands like Tool, Kiss, HIM, Led Zeppelin... you know the music has changed so much, it's hard for me sometimes to put one word on what kind of music I feel it is.

To answer watashimokomi: Yes, you are right about some of those bands, actually. But then again, the only one I'm a fan of is RHCP...a really big fan too. Bands that I would listen to, or have listened to, of those are LP, Tool, Korn, (Papa Roach, I really only know one song, so it doesn't count, but I do listen to that one sometimes). I don't listen to Green Day, but I've got nothing against them. They are not for me, though.

You know I meant folk rock, right?
I'm not too steady on the genres, but Damien Rice is folk.
In the more alternative but sort of similar genres there's Wilco and Jeff Buckley. Oh, and Neutral Milk Hotel + Sufjan Stevens.

I would say folk is even weirder than some of the indie stuff. Hope you find something you like

I like RHCP otherwise I would not ask about them. Glad to hear you like them. I think Antony Keadis (I am not sure how to spell his name correctly) has one of the most beautifull voices in the world. My fav song of them is "Under the Bridge". among those I have asked you about TOOL is one of the most outstanding for me. I love their music. I have one album on whichthe last song is totally made out of sounds of nature where some insect eats someone.....creepy. the verse is simple there "Life eats life. This is necessary!" very creappy I do not know why, but I like it. Although I like some songs like "Parabola" in their creativities.

Oh, Kashie, I wasn't making fun of you! Honestly, I've never heard anyone call anything metal rock. As it stands now, metal isn't really a subgenre of rock anymore. It's its own thing. The stuff you listed, though, like KISS and Zeppelin, I just call hard rock. 'Metal', as a term, became more popular with Black Sabbath, but even a lot of their stuff I would just consider hard rock. I don't think metal really took off as its own genre until the late 70's and 80's when bands Priest and Maiden and Venom and Metallica started to get big.

SilverSpoon, I do not think that this was refering to what you said (you were very polite and didn't mock on Kashie) I think Kashie meant the person who followed your question with making fun on her with these words:

It is not everytime that people do know much of styles and name things as the tend to name them. "Metal-rock" is n alright name for that style 'cause it is actually a rock style so - why arguing about that and emphasizing that it is a very separate style? I would even say that trash-rock and doom-rock are OK for me as names 'cause these are rock dereviations too. It is not about the name - it is about wether you like it or not.

And to Sk8er gurl, I do not think you should make fun on people. You said nothing but that you are laughing at one person here. None of the words about your taste in music. THat is called "flood" in Ukraine. I do not know how about commercial sites like this for the international posts, but on Ukrainian sites you can be punished for flood.

Woah. Ease up on Gurl. She's good people, and she was not mocking you Kashie. She's just deeply random at times, that's why she's so fabulous. Good to see you back, BTW Kashie .

And watashimokomi, chill out. This place is here for fun, not as a deeply intellectual reference point. I'm sure that the Moderator of this forum will edit Gurl's post if he sees a problem with it. You don't need to bash Gurl.

And me, I like a bit of everything. F*ck genres. I've got nothing to prove. My ears tell me if its good, that's all I care about.

Oh come on. I made one post... I don't think that warranted you bashing me like that. Besides, I don't think I'm the first person on FH to make an off-topic post. If you really want to make an issue out of the rules here, you're not supposed to post twice in a row. You've done that many times in this thread...

I'm sorry if I offended you Kashie, but I posted exactly what I thought of at that moment. I meant it in a humourous way, sorry if you didn't see it that way.

My humour hurt someone... I didn't intend to do that and I apologised. Even if you hadn't posted, I would have apologised anyway. What ticks me off is that you didn't wait to see if I would apologise, and before I could respond you just jumped right in and told me off.

Don't you see, by posting this way you're deliberately hurting other people. I don't see how that's better than what I did, unintentionally hurting someone.

She didn't say anything wrong. It was a joke, and it wasn't even making fun of Kashie. We know what Kashie meant.

If you were looking for some folk music from wherever, then listen to Gåte. They play sort of rockish-inspired folk music from Norway. They're great!

Whoa, guys, this gone a little too far. See what happens when I don't make myself clear and check these forums too often? *note to self, make yourself clear*

Ok, no hard feelings. I wasn't hurt by anyone or by the remarks they made, so there's no problem. Gurl, you're great, I wasn't angry with you. And thank you watashimokomi. And thank you Spoon, 'cause you're right; I knew it wasn't a serious remark.
Ok, so we're cool?

MISSY! I've missed you, and your posts! It's good to be back How's your Anime crush? He doing alright?
