Check out pandora.com. They work out what kind of stuff you'll like from you typing in a band.

It's pretty cool.

I've used it, it's pretty cool, it's turned me on to some great music. Only thing I'd like is the ability to choose a certain gene or a few certain genes to focus on, for example when I put in a Distillers song looking for more female fronted punk I get song after song with similar music, but all of it with "Aggressive(OR Gavely) Male Vocalist", it can get frustrating. Also some of my tastes are a bit too out there for it to find good matches, but that hardly it's fault.

I like it a lot more than last.fm, I find that I agree more with a computer's idea of what I'd like than a bunch of poseur idiots, I swear half of them just pick bands that dress the same.
