| Bloomin' crazy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I hope there are some Muse fans in here so I have someone to talk to. Anyway, anyone heard it yet? It's called "Supermassive Black Hole" and taken from their fourth album "Black Holes And Revelations" that's out July 3. The single isn't out in stores before June 19th, but it can be downloaded from their website now. I think it only works in the UK/Europe though... Anyway, what do you think? Are you excited for their new album after hearing this? I mean, it's not like anything I've ever heard from them before (and I've heard just about everything I think), but they're known for their experimenting. Some people have said it's horrible and that it sounds like Britney Spears on crack. I think it sounds better and better every time I listen to it, so I quite like it. There's so much at once, so I think you have to listen to it a few times to actually get all of it. Matt Bellamy has said it has "Rage Against the Machine riffs in the background", and I like that. Though I'm not liking the whole "Oh baby" thing in the lyrics. At first I didn't like the vokals, but they're growing on me. All in all I think it still captures the Muse sound. It still feels like you're in space when you listen to it. And it has some "Time Is Running Out"/"Plug In Baby" to it (it's just "taken down" a notch). It's still completely different. "Supermassive Black Hole" is not as strong of a single as "Time Is Running Out" was though. What do you think of the single? And the album/single name? What do you think of the band in general? |

| I enjoyed that song. It's good to listen to while strutting down the sidewalk, and then other people join you like it's some kind of Pepsi commercial and you all start doing a choreographed dance routine in the middle of the street. |

Stockholm Syndrome is a brilliant song. Sing For Absolution is pretty good as well, but not one of my favourites on the album. I like Time Is Running Out and Butterflies And Hurricanes better. Though I must say I think Absolution lacked a song like Plug In Baby or Newborn. You know, some of that craziness. Edit: I just found a site where you can listen to live versions of "Supermassive Black Hole," "Starlight" and "Knights of Cydonia" (They're all from the new album). The quality is okay. Just go here and look at the May 13th update (it's at the very top today, might not be tomorrow). | |

While the sparse vocal melodies and the "classical" arpeggios, vocal falsetto's may be what distinguishes them from most bands, they are nevertheless overusing them too much for my taste. The new album is abit different, but still delivers their signature sound. Overproduced? For sure. Standout Tracks: City of Delusión, Exo-Politics, Invincible. Fav. moment: Unison vocal octave stuff in the second part of "Knights of Cydonia." |

Take this in. Do not allow distractions. Simmer in it's...awsomeness. Knights of Cydonia. Knights of Cydonia Video Live Performance Seems they have throughly inhabited their own space, with the excess and drama of their music being perhaps more reminiscent of Queen than Radiohead. Having taken the concept of "over the top" to a whole new place on their last two albums, it's interesting to see them signalling a change of direction creatively speaking. |

| Bloomin' crazy ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The Knights of Cydonia video is hilarious. I love it. I think it's my favourite video. I love when Matt Bellamy lifts his arms and goes crazy. That cracked me up. The lyrics are great, this has to be my favourite song on the album. Oh yes, and there's also a Starlight video here. They've been making videos like crazy lately. |
