Madonna and Guy Ritchie's marriage is being held together by the couple's love for their children, Guy's father has claimed.
76-year-old John Ritchie has told Britain's Closer magazine the pair are working hard on their five-year marriage in Los Angeles, for the sake of their two children, five-year-old Rocco and Lourdes, nine.
It's the children that will keep them together. The children are everything to them," says the former advertising executive, who lives in West London.
Ritchie says he had dinner with his son shortly before the family flew out to spend time at their Los Angeles home, and is optimistic for their future. "LA seems to have helped them. It's easier out there because there is less pressure. You can never know that things will work but they do seem to be fitting into each other more."
"They're able to go home at night and be together. They both want to see the children and be a family."
Madonna and film-maker Guy Ritchie married in a Scottish castle in 2000, but in recent months have been plagued by constant press speculation over the state of their marriage.
