disappointed

very disappointed in peoples taste in music in this forum.most of it could hardly be called music,britney,christina,ashlee-these are all little pop acts,interested more in looking good than making music,and have no clue as to the actual construct of real music.just wish people would stop letting the radio tell them what to listen to and delve into real music instead.yeah,i know,a pipe dream,but just a thought anyway.

Well, from what I've seen, a lot of us like more than what you mentioned, or don't like that stuff at all. Fanhost has forums for those particular artists because they are more well-known and mainstream, so it brings in the posters.

I wouldn't really say that what they do isn't real music, but the majority of them aren't real musicians. I called them artists before, but that's because I don't really know what else to call them without being totally rude. Well...I guess you could just call them performers. Everything is done for them, all they have to do is get on stage and rake in the cash.

yeah,good thoughts silverspoon.have since looked around here a little more and noticed there are quite a few people who actually seem to enjoy actual music.good to know.

In the end, I still believe it's "to each his own," but at the same time it's nice if people wouldn't close themselves off to just mainstream stuff, or just underground stuff or whatever. I'm not saying that I like things like Justin Timberlake, but I used to pride myself in liking bands that no one has heard of. I realized there's a lot more out there than that. Just be open minded. I'll listen to anything you give me and then decide whether I like it or not.

And I like to make movies, so I also keep a lot of music I wouldn't normally enjoy just because it could come in handy for a scene in the future.

there are a lot of us with different music tastes on here..
My fave group is the Cure, but also listen to: Killers, Muse, Interpol, Pixies, Ministry, Depeche Mode, New Order, She Wants Revenge ect...
